Upon changing out coils on my 07 Mini Cooper s, I found copious amount of oil in number three spark plug well. Going from left to right my number 1,2, and 4 were all clean with no oil or oil residue. I'm hoping to gain some info on all the possibles as to why just one spark plug well has oil drenching the exterior ceramic spark plug.
Perhaps this is the normal expectation regarding this problem, but I do not know and I cannot find anywhere on God's green World Wide Web where this issue has been specifically addressed. Please, could you enlighten me? Thank you in advance. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: MINI Cooper R56 Valve Cover Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article |

The seal for the spark plug tube failed. Replace the valve cover gasket, it will come with these seals. Give The Pelican Parts parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.

Valve cover gaskets here: 2007 Mini Cooper S Hatchback - Cylinder Head & Valvetrain - Page 1.
Be sure to check and make sure your valve cover isn't leaking. If you have the original one from factory, MINI has an updated version out as this is a common failure point on the R56. |
