I've been advised to use Premium Unleaded with a Valve Lubricant each time I fill up the tank of my '77 911. I use Valvemaster in the syringes at the moment.
I'm interested to know what others use here. Just as a comparison.

I just use 98-ron Premium unleaded.
I've never used a valve lubricant in my 2.7.

I use 98-ron premium unleaded (recommended by my mechanic). I tend to use Shell Optimax because that's what my local service station has, though I have heard that Mobil is better (apparently less corrosive for fuel lines).
The owner manual for my car recommends 95-ron unleaded as a minimum.

I use Shell Optimax too (mainly because of the Coles discount
). So no one here uses a valve lubricant additive?

98 Premium. I try to use Optimax if I can. Have used LRP on occasion, but that stuff is crap.

Mmm... it's $1.20 extra for every 20 litres of petrol for the valve lubricant... for a full-tank, that's an extra $4.80... maybe I can stop using it then... I'll ask Phil the next time I speak to him.

I once used Upper Cylinder lubricant, but it was a PITA to put in.
I've been using Shell Optimax ever since the engine was rebuilt. My mechanic has told me to stop using it as it's apparently too refined for MFI cars; I will finally heed his advice when I get my car back. He recommends Mobil Synergy for all 911s. Synergy 8000 is definitely the go. Optimax seems to run just a bit hotter and 'rougher'. Forget the lubricant - waste of money in P car.
