I was a freshman at UCSB in 1978. We had a lot of toga parties and one epic food fight in the cafeteria. Luckily, no one smashed my guitar.

I knew the guy who owned the Red House on Del Playa. He was into porsches.

Freshman in college here too...yep, huge food fight in the dorm cafeteria, toga parties....and beer...lots of beer ;)

I wasn't allowed to go see it. I was told it was inappropriate for my age. I had to wait a few years until I learned that the Germans bombed pearl harbor.

We'd like to do a tune for you now entitled "Shamalamadingdong"....so hit it !

I went to college in Oregon, so did the pilgrimage to the sites of interest in the flick. Delta house was torn down a LONG time ago, like 30 years ago maybe.

I had just graduated Lehigh Univ., after 4 yrs. in a fraternity house that I swear was the model for the Delta house.

No, that was my father's frat at San Jose State. And my own father was the real life Bluto, or so I'm told. He cleaned up his act soon after college and lived a long and happy life. But the stories his frat brothers told me!

Well...us youngins had a movie to guide the way by '78....thank you sir (may I have another). Though I never joined a frat...we had two houses like that, but they didn't really stand out all that much from the rest of the campus....as I do or don't recall...good times :)

My fraternity had a social house as our Jesuit college had no residential Greek houses. We rented a 3 story house - 1st floor was the drinking floor with a converted soda can machine dispensing 25 cent beers, 2 floor bedrooms was the (using current terminology) "hook-up" floor with locks on every door for some modicum of privacy, and the third floor attic was the dope floor (it was 1970-1974), but only weed/hash. I contributed my Marine uncle's silk parachute to make the attic ceiling look much more inviting and visually stimulating. Animal House could have been shot there, but many scenes would have been edited...
As is often said, "if you remember the '70's, you weren't there.

I think that if you can't remember the '70's you were merely participating in the mayhem, but if you can remember, you were involved in orchestrating the mayhem. And I remember plenty.
