Well, the trip is starting to take shape. I thought I'd throw a few more things out and see what people think.

Also, Wolfe, it would be great to autocross with you but Mrs. MRM will not allow a car event to invade her vacation. Otherwise it sounds like a perfect day in every way, plus a couple of ferry rides.

Tentatively we're planning to come into Seattle Friday afternoon. We'll stay close to downtown and walk Pike's market, etc. Sunday we were thinking of Bainbridge Island. Sunday we're taking the Victoria Clipper to Friday Harbon on San Juan Island. We'll stay there until Tuesday. We're thinking of driving to Mt. Rainier on Tuesday and staying in the Paradise (south) side of the mountain. Wednesday would be reserved for Mt. Rainier driving, sightseeing and hiking. I want to drive through the complete park and take the gondola up the mountain. Thursday would be for Mt. St. Helens and Friday would be used for whatever mountain we wanted to hike next. We could either drive back to Seattle Friday night or stay in the mountains. I'm thinking we would drive back to Seattle later Friday night and sleep in Saturday. Our flight doesn't leave until 5, so we'll have plenty of time for Walking the tourist high points again.

We will certainly go to the Space Needle. We loved it on our first trip. The meal was excellent, the views unparalleled, and the check almost fatal. But it was well worth it. I will also check out the guy on Craigslist and see if he would be able to take us sailing. I can't sail myself, but I do love being on a sailboat even if the most help i can offer is to stay out of the way.

IVERS, IVERS, IVERS.... either the take out stand in front or the sit down on the wharf...the white clam chouda...

Every time in Seattle my first stop is....issss..I can wait....

Pikes Market...Canterberry Farms Blueberry vinegar..

How many days at Friday Harbor????? Ehhhh after a day on Orca island it got boring...I did find a first edition 4 volume set of "Thomas Jefferson's Works" published in 1829 by his grandson T. J. Randolph. They belonged to a lawyer in PA mid century (Edwin Gow), and then his son somehow brought them to the Seattle late in the 19th century? It even has a print of a rough draft of the Dec of Independence annotated by Franklin in the back of vol 1. Nothing like reading the original..Got them for $75.00 at an antique store.

I have even flown into Victoria, BC just to go to an antique auction on Fort Street. That trip was mostly for antique English Sterling as I recall.

I am just back from the San Juan's, it is a paradise there in many ways. I'm usually on Lopez Island where my sister and her family live. She owns a small grocery store there.

The view from our campsite on Saturday night.

Get to the Columbia River and to Eastern Washington.

Goldendale, White Swan, you'll see things not on the menu in the rest of Washington.

I have been to these places. Not for everyone, but I enjoy these place far more than the unending pines.

Close! We were in 19.

As a side note, both times I have been there I have seen a nice white Targa rolling around in the village.

We got in to Seattle today, rented a car and drove to a spot to pick up our running packets (bibs, swag, etc...) for the race on Sun amd then drove downtown. We spent several hours walking downtown.

The traffic was nice and light, which was a nice surprise after what everyone had said we should expect.

We did see homeless people, which seems weird considering how cold and wet this place is, but I saw no poo on the sidewalks.

I suspect things will be a little different tomorrow when we go to the BnB in between redmond and Carnation.
