I have an old Ruger single action. Notches carved in the grip from a buck knife. Each one a raccoon I shot out of the top of a tree in the middle of the night, in the forests of southern Michigan.

Just an old Belgium made Browning Challenger here. Purchased in the early 70's. Not for sale.

I picked up a Ruger SP101 last year haven't fired it yet :( but it is a rugged piece . Also have a Mark IV to compliment .

A work of modern art. Yes, 22’s are cool. No kick, cheap ammo.

I’ve also got one of those. I really like it and it’s not for sale either.

Just picked up my Browning Buckmark 7 1/2"
Can't wait to get to the range with it.
Had to special order it, then an additional 10 day wait because I had bought another pistol. I go to the store with my paperwork, salesman opens the box... and it is black, I ordered grey (didn't know black was an option) I actually like it better in black. :D

The only thing on my gun want to buy list is a really nice, perfect even, S&W model 17.

I assume that you know that the 22 Outdoorsman/K22 became the K22 Masterpiece, first shipped in 1940. In 1957, the K22 became the Model 17. The dash numbers like 17-1 and 17-2, etc. indicated changes to the gun. The Model 17 was finally discontinued in 1999 but a "Heritage" model was brought out in 2001. Over the years, the K22/M17 have been available with 4", 6" and 8 3/8" barrels. The best of the lot are generally considered to be the ones made from 1940 - 1955. Lots of interesting history to be had about the S&W line! Here are some pictures of a 1948 vintage K22 that I just bought. Just happens to be the same year I was born, making it a "birthyear" gun!

Thanks, I didn't know any of that :)

Nice gun!!!

All I know is a guy at gun club, Mike Clare, who I call "Mike faster than his own shadow" has one and is very good with it.

I have a buying policy. It must look like new, but priced second hand, be worth more than I paid.

Here is my modest collection of .22 handguns. A Ruger Single Six I bought on my 21st birthday, because I could. A late '50's issue High Standard Sport King that is more accurate than I can hold. And, finally, an early '50's S&W pre-model 17.

All sitting on a freshly re-sealed and stained deck. :D

Not my deck, but it could be as mine has the same "natural" finish!

Very nice! One of the few .22s that I have never owned. The Diamondback, Police Positive Target and the S&W K22/M17 all use the same cylinder size and cartridge spacing in the cylinder. Thus, the speedloader for the Diamondback will also work with the others. The larger frame Colt .22s (Officers Model, Official Police, etc) use a larger cylinder with wider spacing. Unfortunately, no one makes speed loaders for them! The .22 OM would be a great choice to shoot in a steel plate match but not having speed loaders kills that idea!
