Porsche things to do in the Bay Area in the next few days
I'll be visiting the Bay Area from this Thursday (23rd) until Tuesday next week (28th) and I'm looking at Porsche-related things to do. My current schedule is:
Fri 9am Visit Canepa "open house" near Fri 11am Visit Werks Reunion near Monterey Sun am Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Mon ? Tue ? Any other ideas? Would be cool to visit Elephant Racing or Sharkwerks but I'm not sure about how sympathetic they are about random Porsche enthusiasts going there just for a look... |

If only you stayed a bit longer, EASY gathering first saturday of each month, that's one to see... ;-)
Fantasy junction in Emeryville (next to EASY and across the bay bridge from SFO) is a cool place with lots of nice old cars. |

There's not much to see at Elephant Racing. Just a lobby and some cubicles.
After Canepa, there's not much point in seeing anything else. Why not go see some redwood trees or the beach or something?

Looks like to have so far concentrated on the goings on associated with Car Week. If you've never visited Canepa, and you are interested in cars, racing and Porsches, you are in for a big treat.
Werks is a great event. Lots of PCA friends will be there and I think it is still organized by a long time member and friend. If you are unfamiliar with the area and are going to drive between the venues, I suggest monitoring traffic carefully. Lots going on down there. As an example, I attended Werks a few years ago, and it took about 60-90 minutes to get there (Carmel) from Salinas. I live pretty close to Sharkwerks, and have known them since before they started that business. I drop in there every year or so-- they are great folks. If you are concerned about interrupting their flow of business, just give them a call first. Their facility is about 5 minutes away from the Tesla factory. I may have some other suggestions-- feel free to send me a pm. I have lived in Norcal for a long time and I have been a PCA member for 30 years. I might have some fre time Monday or Tuesday. Just be ready for some epic traffic!
