Many do not know that Honda actually had a plant in Marysville, Ohio.

And in 1987 that plant actually produced a run of the VFR700F Interceptor model.

The only way to know if the bike was produced at that plant is by looking at the VIN plate.

Here's an explanation:
https://v4dreams.com/shop-blog/made-in-the-usa

I have the good fortune, from a purely historic POV, to currently own two such bikes.

In a completely unrelated aspect, I was looking on eBay at frames and saw this one for sale with this very VIN plate.

The kicker is......the frame is located in GREAT BRITAIN!!!

So a Japanese manufactured motorcycle, has one made in the USA, and that bike's frame ends up in England.

New one on me!

Also, I was looking at the seller's feedback and saw this recent FB from a buyer...lol....

The part I ordered was very well packaged and I loved that it came with a news paper where the cross word was filled out lol. And the part was exactly what was shown and arrived as promptly as it could when coming from Europe.

Sometimes it really is a small world.......:)

Working on a deal right now to purchase a load of parts - most for the RC24 model.

Not sure of everything we are talking about - or even final pricing. But for a start, check out these 3 fuel tanks....none dented!!!

A couple of vintage race bikes from down under. John Trease Engineering built some pretty wild stuff until mr. Trease passed away in 2017. These are based on Ironhead Sportsters, but with some significant changes. The cases are homemade cast magnesium, the cylinders are homemade as well, cast in aluminum, and the heads are from a Panhead, with the front one turned around backwards. They have Yamaha transmissions, ignition is twin plug fired by a pair of magnetos, and they run on methanol. At 88 cubic inches, they reportedly made over 140 hp on a chassis dyno. His son has drug them out of storage and has been racing them again. Pretty cool stuff.

After a pause - getting back into the restoration fray. This morning removed the tires from 2 front and 2 rear wheels using my new bead breaker tool, which worked great.

^^^^ that bead breaker looks like a handy tool! The majority of my bikes have tubes, and the beads are generally fairly easy to bust loose.

I have a few like that too, Kurt. And yes - this little tool is super handy!

I just uploaded this video of one of my White bikes. It came with a YOSHIMURA muffler and is one of the '87 Interceptors built at the Marysville, Ohio plant.

My rides in 1985:

1985 XR350R. Bought it from a co-worker that bought it new and only rode it twice in 9 months.
It's been kept in the family, I rode it as my son grew and outgrew his CRF150 dirt bike, I handed it up to him and bought a used '07 XR400. Didn't ride it much since my Son moved to Cali and took the 350 with him. He rode it in the desert a lot and loved it till he managed to break the case not so neatly around the drain plug.

It's currently being rebuilt in black and blue, handed off the motor and replacement case to a local shop to effect repair.

1982 CB900F, bought new and put 27K on it before my son was born, it sat almost 2 years and I sold it.

That was a mistake, it fit me way better than my brother' '83 Interceptor does

Hello Skip.......thanks for sharing - good stuff!

Maybe you remember I have two '83 VF750's - both in BLUE and both in running condition.

But I also picked up a RED version this summer - not in running condition.

Pretty sure I have everything needed to get her running again - just have to budget the time to do so. And to be honest - it's not super high on the motorcycle work priority list.

Oddly enough I have been cleaning the fuel tank a bit, so at least it will be ready. A previous owner for some reason spray painted the top white...but overall not in bad shape and I do have the locking cap for it, petcock, and sending unit.

And FWIW, I only got it because the seller also delivered two BLUE '87 VFR700's.....plus a bunch of spare parts......and I think I did him a favor by taking this one off his hands.

One of the VFR700's was in complete running condition and came with a center stand - very rare for this model. The other was a rolling donor bike.

Also - was chatting with a cycle friend tonight and he mentioned a product called "Plexus" for cleaning and protecting plastics. He gave it rave reviews! Might have to give it a whirl.....

Went over to do some stuff today on my motorcycles and the guy across from me wheeled out his '04 Triumph 'America'. It's the same as a 'Bonneville'.....Triumph just changed the name.

He bought it in Utah, when he was living there. He had an Italian accent and an Italian name so looking forward to having another conversation with him at another time.

He walked over to my storage unit and his first words were "Are these all for sale?"....lol.....

I replied not at this time but will keep him posted. I don't think he wanted to make a purchase - it was just something to say when confronted with an impressive inventory such as mine. :)

Check out the graphics on his fuel tank - he said he had it done in Utah and asked they put something related to Naples on it - and if you look closely there's an "N" in the middle of the star beneath Marilyn.

His bike sounded AWESOME, too!
