Yep...nice score. Having owned several different HD's, I must admit my RK was the best of the bunch...and yours is even better. And, nothing wrong with spokes and tubes, until you pick up a nail.
Ride safe and enjoy!

I've put about 1,000 miles on the $500 estate sale Bonnie this year. I've been trying to take advantage of the nice weather we've been having here in the northeast.
Also bought a stock exhaust for a Triumph Scrambler which I plant install this winter. The biggest hurdle is that it requires relocating the rear brake master cylinder below the foot peg. I've been scoping out eBay for Scrambler foot brackets but they seem hard to come by.

Fast forward to 2013 after that 2000 Road King got totaled by some idiot in an F250. Its replacement, a 2013 Road King (pictured above), was purchased for less than the 2000 model year bike 13 years prior. The bubble had burst. One can certainly take advantage of that glut in manufacturing today, and pick these bikes up for a song. The Twin Cam bikes are absolutely one of the "sweet spots" in the range of Harley Davidson production. The TC88 was a monumental improvement over the 80 inch Evo but, unfortunately, shared its frame, which was in production since the later Shovelhead era. Later Twin Cams feature the redesigned frame, which is far stiffer (especially down around the swing arm pivot), resulting in vastly improved handling over the earlier bikes. Both HardDrive's and my own 2013 models have this new frame. The difference is very noticeable. The 103" Twin Cam is, to me, one of the "all time best" Harleys. Modern day touring bike handling, modern day (Brembo) brakes, modern day reliability and longevity and, most of all, modern day power. Beats the hell out of the underpowered, wallowing pig "big twins" with no brakes that Harley built up through the Evo era, bikes that rightfully earned the reputation as outdated junk riding on brand loyalty alone. I'll keep my TC103 until I can no longer ride.

I've got a 2014. Parts are hard to come by because most of the guys riding these are pretty sedate in their riding style.
Not me, I ride it like I stole it. $500 is a great deal!![]() Quote:

In the 70s today, not many more, if any, days like today left in the year. Finding as many excuses as possible to be on the bike today. First up is new hose sprayer at HD.

This Red Smoke *S model* is absolutely beautiful. My favorite BMW color ever. I still have the Alaska Blue 1984 R100RS from back on page 5 or so that Mike/Chocoholic helped me procure back in 2017, photos taken just the other day:

![]() This is my latest addition. It's a 1960 BSA Gold Star in Clubman trim. It was stored for a number of years so I'm getting it road worthy. Only my second British bike.

Unfortunately, both of those bikes are long gone. I agree...that vintage of Superglide were beautiful bikes. As I recall, I traded it for a Ural a few years ago....yep, the Ural is gone too.
