Ted, you can send those Finn Comfort shoes to the factory and for a fee they will refurbish them to like new. Insoles also can be replaced. I like the wing tips

No need the Fnns are like NEW...
The Florsheim are in excellent plus condition, with little wear.

We have that exact Stiffle lamp in our study. Bought it new sometime back in the 1980's.

URY914 10-04-2018 04:56 AM

That cord on the lamp is a tripping hazard. I wouldn't want those wingtips to get caught under it.

Stiffle lamps are great. I have 5 stiffle floor lamps including 2 with the glass table. I am stiffled out.

I have the same lamp as well, also one with the glass table, and two trophy shaped table lamps. Is there a market for them? I inherited them from my mother, I have no use for any of them.

I've been wondering Tabs, you obviously have a knack for finding a lot of nice quality stuff for very little $s. But what do you do with it all? Are you filling you garage with this stuff? Resaleing it, if so, how do you do that, Craigslist, eBay?

Cheers Richard

Craig's list, eBay local pu, face book

I think about 175 to 250 for the glass table one.

Table lamps match pair around 100.

Somewhere there must be a warehouse full of draggin' azz jeans...'cause who needs more than a few pair for daily activities :).

I act as a middleman in finding new homes for perfectly good stuff.

Sorta like Fred Sanford, but with better tastes :)? Serious question...do you do this for "the game" of finding bargains, or for the actual $ to be made? I'm thinkin' it's genetic....and I have different jeans...

Of course for everything that I find a new home for I collect a finders fee.

The answer is.

It gives me purpose, something to do...It is rewarding on several different levels...

I get out of the house and have an activity which is rewarding

I get some exercise walking around...down about 50 lb since I started

I get to talk to a whole bunch of different people.

I get to find some really neat stuff for myself.

The rest goes to new homes....and the challenge there in of facilitating that activity.

Jeans?
I have no patience for poking through random stuff to see if there is something I want to buy. If I need something, I compare a few prices, and I buy it. It all starts with need.

I'm like that too. I've known folks who really enjoy "the game" though...as does Tabs obviously, and he knows "stuff"....but I doubt it's really about the $....genetic makeup...who knows?

My jeans are Levis....worthless without a dragon on the azz....I don't have those genes ;)
