Miss Universe

What's this bull**** about choosing 5 finalists from each region? Back in the day it was top 12, then it gets whittled down to the top 5.

RKDinOKC 12-16-2018 09:40 PM

More time for presenting, and less for showing the competitions that pretty much prove they can't actually do anything.

WPOZZZ 12-16-2018 09:45 PM

USA gets in via wildcard. lol

It ain't worth watching if there is no swim suit competition. Why would anybody want to watch a bunch of high maintenance bimbos if it weren't for them parading around their talents.

Hey they may even know how to play the piano..that would be a worth while talent to see.

Unbelievable. They really think they can force this crap down our throats. Someone obviously wants to destroy these beauty pageants by ruining them and plummeting the ratings. I have no other explanation.

Born in Australia, half Scottish, and educated in the USA. And she represented the Philippines?

If I hadn't read about it here, I'd have still thought that show went away many years ago. People still watch this stuff?

Seahawk 12-17-2018 05:04 AM

Never.

One of the Power Line guys is a fan.

GH85Carrera 12-17-2018 05:20 AM

I have not watched one of the beauty contests in many decades. Never will again, life it too short to watch that drivel.

It is so ironic, women fight for "equality" at all levels for so long, and a man (Bruce Jenner) wins woman of the year, and now a male is competing in Miss Universe. WFT indeed.

But it is politically correct!

flatbutt 12-17-2018 05:36 AM

I think they should pick the top model from the Victorias Secret show and include as a finalist! If you're going to include a TG contestant then let's open it up all the way!

My wife who is from the Philippines said, "What? How can that be? I should send them a picture to show what a woman from there looks like."

URY914 12-17-2018 06:44 AM

I just saw a short video clip of the winner walking in a bathing suit.

WINNER!

Seems crazy to have a beauty agent in this day and age. My wife was watching for a bit, I sort of looked up for some of the swimsuit portion, because of reasons.

Puerto rico gets my vote from what I saw.

+1
Me too. I didn't realize they still do this stuff.

ckelly78z 12-17-2018 08:58 AM

Looks like alot of really high maintenance, aspiring actresses who all will do anything to advance their careers....not neccesarily wife material, but fun for a awhile.

URY914 12-17-2018 09:32 AM

^^^That is a FINE leg.

Jims5543 12-17-2018 11:47 AM

I am scrolling through this thread to see if the dude won, I see this long ass post with pictures and links and wonder out loud, who TF cares this much about something so mundane.

Then scrolled back up and laughed.

Carry on.

She'd get my vote just based on that one leg.
