Somewhere I'm glad not to be, which is most of the Northern hemisphere this time of year. :)

Ok..gotta ask. What does the writing (on the ship) say on your first pic?
Safety first...no naked ...??

I'm thinking it has something to do with redheads. They don't want nekkid ones for some reason. Prolly afraid of a naked Viking attack.

So my question, how in heck do you put clothes on a flame?

yellowperil 12-21-2018 04:32 PM

Finally got the ice under control

Ship now alongside and all is forgivenhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1545438594.jpg

I figured it said No Naked Fatties. For obvious reasons.

What does the symbol circled in red mean...Propeller? Since it’s at the back of the ship? Wouldn’t that be obvious?

Would they have those on a ship that has the directional propellers around the ship?

I don’t know why, but these big ship posts by YP are always so interesting.

Here in Charleston SC, there are several ports. Its interesting to watch the cargo ships go by.

That's what it is, and although obvious, better safe than sorry. Sometimes it hard to believe how careless some folks can be.

Well, it's nice to hear that. I would've thought I was overdoing it, so I didn't post as many this year. although this is our 14th ship this fall. I have always found it to be very interesting work. Enjoyed every minute .

^^^^^Absolutely! Great photos. Keep them coming.

This is so interesting to me being a Southern California boy my whole life. "Ice breakers", "PEI", "unloading ships"...Completely Greek to me and super interesting stuff. Pelican brings so many people together from so many different walks of life.

So here's a few more

Look at the size of that deck!! This is a very wide vessel, which gave us some trouble with the ice. Also had no bow thrusters, so it was a pig for steering. And still has to have an ice breaker for departure. Our ship's pilot is fairly fed up with this size ship
in wintertime.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1545605071.jpg

More, please...

yellowperil 12-24-2018 02:19 PM

I thought I'd tour today

Instead of work as our discharging is shut down for 3 days holiday, and since all our snow is gone, touring seemed the obvious thing to do.

Just like summer, except it's -10 C

Visiting at my brother's house,
I once asked a co worker "Yo, bro what's up?" His answer. "I'm working at me mudder's batroom"http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1545689773.jpg

Limassol. I know where that is. I visited the "Greek" side of Cyprus in 2011.

A few of my BIL's pics, he takes a lot around where I work

and he has a better eye and camera than I do. I have a ship arriving today 30th, so I'll see if anything is interesting to take today.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1546173995.jpg
