What a wildly diverse group we are.
Thanks for posting all the songs here. It's been good fun listening to the very different music you have all shared MELE KALIKIMAKA to all of my pelican friends. Cheers Richard Last edited by tevake; 12-24-2018 at 01:58 PM.. |

Twelve Days of Christmas. The other Canadian version.
On the first day of Christmas,my true love gave to me a porcupine in a pine tree ... two caribou ....three beaver tails ......four calling moose .......five Stanley cups ........six squirrels curling ..........seven sled dogs sledding ............eight Mounties munching .............nine loons canoeing ..............ten Leafs a leaping ...............eleven puffins piping .................twelve bear cubs dancing. Merry Christmas to all Pelican families!

At work Friday, my dental assistant had some gawdawful christmas station playing. Not the classics (I like those), but deranged variations that sound like frantic singers being held at gunpoint.
Adding to this I had a challenging patient. She moaned in pain. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "You are pushing too hard on my other teeth" She replied. "I'm sorry" I said, making sure to not push too hard. Seconds later, She moaned again. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "The air is too cold" She replied. "I'm sorry" I said. Seconds later, She moaned again. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "The cotton roll in my mouth hurts" She replied. "I'm sorry" I said. And removed the cotton. Seconds later, She moaned again. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "I don't like the taste" She replied. "I'm sorry" I said. And we rinsed her mouth. I went to drill. Whe moaned again. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "That sound is terrible" She replied. " I'm sorry ma'am, there's nothing I can do about the pentatonix" Ba Dumm Tsssssss.....

To paraphrase the movie Fargo, "When it comes to Christmas music it depends on the artist. I mean, Robert Goulet, ya got no complaints...."

I didn't click on this thread because generally, I don't really care for Christmas music. One song in particular, is absolutely despised and avoided.
But the delightfully weird and diverse list here? I am impressed and inspired. Thank you all. This brings me Christmas Cheer! |

My favorite Christmas songs are contemporary, and Over the Rhine has a lot of them. Some are melancholy, but still beautiful.
Not so much a Christmas song, but related. So sad and beautiful.
