Santa Barbara County Parks: A discounted Veteran Annual Pass is available to all veterans with an honorable discharge for only $10. Proof of service can be verified by presenting Veterans Identification Card (VIC) issued by the Veterans Administration, the California State Parks Distinguished Veteran Pass issued by California State Parks or a California Driver's License or Identification Card with the Veteran designation issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

To purchase a Senior or Veteran Annual Pass, please bring proof of identification or eligibility to the Santa Barbara County Community Services Department – Parks Administrative Office at 123 E. Anapamu Street, Second Floor, in downtown Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Annual Passes may also be purchased at entry gate at Jalama Beach and Cachuma Lake.

Call the Park Administration office for more information or to order your pass at (805) 568-2460, Option 6. Because IDs must be verified for Senior and Veterans Passes, they may only be purchased in person.

Bet it's a little breezy there this afternoon. Great beach for walking aimlessly toward the horizon.

Took my wife for her first visit to Jalama last May. She knew of it and was aware of the prevailing winds which typically make it a bit cold. We left from Santa Ynez with the sky cloudy and breezy. By the time we reached Jalama, the sun was breaking through and this is what we saw.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1546010898.JPG

We were traveling with friends, all of whom had never been there. Had a Jalama Burger with fries as we enjoyed the progressively sunnier day. In a word, EPIC!

nvr2mny 12-28-2018 07:43 AM

Jalama is a special place. Grew up in Santa Barbara and lived for 25 years as an adult in Lompoc, just north of Jalama. MANY great memories with our kids and friends there. Yes, you can’t beat the burger and fries there!
