my dog died sunday morning.
she had been sick for a while, low white blood cell count, but the vet did not know what was wrong. my wife said cancer but nothing showed up.
we noticed her stomach was getting bigger but she was loosing muscle mass. sat night when I let her back in I could really see her stomach sticking out on one side. she woke my wife up with her heavy breathing about 430. we put her back in her bed and she was gone by 5am. we were just talking about having to put her down after the holidays so our daughter could come see her one more time. man this was harder than I ever expected. she was a great dog. we are not really do people but our daughter brought her home when she was on a horse rescue. then we wound up with another dog a few months later. all she wanted to do was play ball. I had a feeling the end was near sat night. I was In the kitchen and she came over and leaned her head against my leg and just stood there, then laid down still leaning on my leg. I thought she has come over here to die.

They become like children, we get so attached, but their life spans are too short. They always break your heart in the end. My condolences.

tough thing, always. It is amazing how close humans become to their pets, especially dogs......
They give unconditional love....... THAT is perhaps the the thing that anchors them so deep in our heart. Sorry, man. |

Sorry for your loss, I had to have our chocolate put down at the age of 13 a couple years ago due to cancer and it was one of the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do and now my black female is getting up there in age.

So sorry for your loss , we have two dogs approaching 16 years old and a 3rd approaching 14 .......... sad days ahead I'm afraid

I can't remember who said it, but it is so true, "A dog's only fault is they don't live long enough." I am very sorry for your loss. My nearly 14 year old Daisy was diagnosed with terminal spleen cancer about three weeks ago. She is still with us, happy, but this was may have been her last Christmas. Please know we are thinking of you and her and your family's loss.

Sorry for your loss. I've had 3 labs, all passed now and they are amazing dogs. Looks like she had a terrific life with you.

Over the years I have had many, many dogs and let quite a few cats live with us too. At various times one or another will show up in some dreams I have and at first that bothered me but now I think they are sending some love from "doggy heaven". Hang in there, another will be along shortly.....
