8 Straight Hours of NYPD Blue

Arggh! I have to keep my foot elevated, so my activities are limited. By 2 PM I'm tired of plinking on the guitar, reading, eating, and really sick of watching the news. Watched 8 straight hours of NYPD Blue reruns yesterday - today looks to be the same. NYPD Blue is good show, great characters like Denis Franz's curmudgeonly Sipowicz. Kim Delaney is very easy on the eyes - or at least she was in 1998. She's probably pushing 60 now (not that there's anything wrong with that :D). It's interesting to watch the cars on the streets of New York as it looked 20 years ago, lots of big ugly American Iron.
Can you tell I'm bored? Reading the thread about Nick and Fred dealing with broken pipes I almost had me thinking I would rather being fixing pipes than just sitting here - nah, it's not that bad. Yet.
Guess I'll be sitting down with Dr. McCallan for another binge session now. Cheers.

There are tons of good shows on Amazon. All of the Star Trek, and more old series and new series than you can shake a stick at. Amazon prime membership, and it is all you can eat TV.

Have you watched "The thin blue line" yet?

Rowan Atkinson is a terrible person in a way that makes him a comic genius.

"Law and Order" and "Gunsmoke" are two other great TV shows that had very long runs.

I like how Detective Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) talks to people that don't like him....Classic.

Grand tour if you are a Clarkson fan, the Porsche 911 story, and a bunch of other car shows.

Star trek is my goto if we can't find anything we agree on.

Start with 2005 Dr. Who on Amazon and keep going. Campy as you would expect until you get to The Empty Child and part 2 The Doctor Dances. Some of the best TV every produced through season 10.

"Homicide - Life on the Street" is one of the best cop shows ever ... the precursor to "The Wire"
Don't know if it available to stream however ... ooops never mind, can't find anyone streaming it right now...

Burn Notice.

Haha. Heal up bud.

I bought the series DVD set - only watched one episode so far. It was the second part of the one that started with a Law and Order episode.

It's here for the next hurricane/power outage.

We are hooked on 'Blue Bloods' but you have to be a Tom Selleck fan

Embedded - very good current events
The Moth - entertaining
Planet Money - current events, educational
This American Life- entertaining, educational
Radio Lab - educational, entertaining
Serial - in depth, current events
Hidden Brain - educational, a little uneven

Binge watch the first season of True Detective. It is awesome.

URY914 02-01-2019 04:02 PM

My wife and I watched ALL the Blues shows from year 1 recently. It was a great show. Only two actors hung on the whole time. It's interesting to see the characters develop over the years.

Another vote for Blue Bloods. Ya gotta love Baker...

I still watch Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, Chicago PD, S.W.A.T., SEAL Team, Hawaii Five-0 when I have spare time.

Strike Back rebooted, and first episode came out last week. Don't know if it will live up to Season 5, which was just fantastic. Maybe i'll give it a watch soon.

I stumbled across Major Crimes and its prequel The Closer recently. We watch 2-3 episodes at a time.

The television "Fargo" is very good and addictive. Each season is a complete, 13 hour novel.
