I replaced the front pads and finished bleeding the brake system on the 997.

What are those round objects? Anti-vibration/squeal devices?

Not really fixing, just replacing. For my 86 El Camino, it has an OBD1 diagnostic port. Back when I converted it to a throttle body fuel injection, 25+ years ago or so, there were no kits like are on the market today. I cobbled together the parts from a GM 1990 Pickup truck Vin H model and adapted it to my Elky. I had to have a custom chip made for the sensors and the 200 4R transmission to put the transmission into full lockup at 50 MPH.

Anyway, the tool I used to read codes is an Auto X-Ray unit. It worked for many years, and recently I had a CEL light come on, and then go back off. I was curious as to what the code was. My old Auto-X-Ray would not come on, just one beep, and no display. I can short out two pins and get the CEL to blink the code, but that is a pain, and I wanted my tool to work. I found one on EBAY, used of course, and it works perfect. $48 bucks, and it has a case, and several cables even a OBD2 cable. No codes to read after all this time to get the new unit in.

Then I had to make a place to hang the new unit and the case it goes in.

We use a baby gate in a hallway to keep the little one and our crazy toy Aussiedoodle separated and the gate we were using was a plastic adjustable one. My wife found a better metal swinging gate at Goodwill yesterday for 7 bucks and I installed it where the old gate would be. The new gate came with extra pieces for different widths, but our passageway is narrow enough that I didn't have to use them. It uses some adjustable spacers that have rubber ends, and as you screw them out, the gate is held fast and secured against a wall or door frame in this case. The adjuster parts have exposed threaded areas that are silver and I didn't like the look of them, so I took some new rubber fuel line hose and cut it to length, split the hose, and wrapped it around the exposed threaded silver part for a finished look. The gate works fantastic, no more sliding a plastic gate out of the way or stepping over it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3852783bd5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...06b3d0ff03.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8166db85a0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...659d1e7580.jpg
