Follow up from yesterday. Right front fender and rear fender extensions installed in Bondoed (sp?). All four corners need fine-tuning with filler.

I welded in reinforcements for the front sway bar, but welding upside down became a disaster, so I can’t post pictures until I grind them down.

Hopefully the effort is rewarded with increased grip from the wider rubber.

A nice warm day for yardwork.
Repaired the rain run off/surface erosion on the 100 foot DG path.
Easy with a flat shovel when the DG is still damp from the rains.
Used a 25 foot hand saw extension to trim the Queen palms.
Hammered in 150 fertilizer spikes around the trees, ready for an early spring in San Diego.

Wife and I spent 18 hours this weekend just deep cleaning the interior of this little camper.
Last week removed 3 large exterior Lance stickers.
With a heat gun and wd40 and a wax/cleaner, each sticker took 2 hours to remove. :)

Working on a buddy's Scout. Turns out the dope job that wasn't done correctly, the dope was practically jumping off the dacron. I suspect the correct dope wasn't used for the saturation stage. Anyway, I finished the headliner install today except the front carry through.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1675835051.jpg

Sanded the paint off the 330 rear deck lid and then skimmed it with 3M Ice. Hopefully I get home early enough today to sand and prime it.

Rocket. You should start your own thread so we can see your project on it's own.

Spent the weekend with son in laws and chainsaws trying to recover from the huge ice storm. I have quite a few huge old pecan trees that were shedding branches right and left when loaded up with inches of ice...

Some day I'll get back to the 914 on jack stands. :(

Hang in there... I had a neighbor that had his new pole barn collapse on his motor home and vette....

LOVE LOVE LOVE the work ya'll are doing here! Especially the landscape upkeep, Ted! I used to have over a dozen Queen Palms here but one by one they succumbed to the disease known as Fusarium Wilt. :(

I replaced most with the self-cleaning crownshaft palms from Australia plus some other different kinds including 3 nice fat Coconuts!

Today I laid a little sod at one of my accounts and performed a little irrigation maintenance....

I like these Rainbird stream rotor nozzles a LOT!

lol. I’m on the downside now with work on the car. Or at least I keep thinking that but I come up with new ideas and things to do.

Once I finish with the body filler, I’ll take it to get painted at Maaco or similar, as I don’t have a place to paint it myself.

I have about 1000 pictures on my phone of work I’ve done to the car since I bought it. A lot of them help me put it back together!

Yeah, my nephew on the south side of Austin had to make a quick trip to the Armadillo Ranch to pick up a chain saw to cut up all the ice fall branches around his house. He was without power for a few days as well.

So, the dryer started making some terrible sounds. Suspected a drum roller but couldn’t find on line service manuals on my unit without paying like $10.

Screw that, just dug into it figuring out how to disassemble cause it’s what I do… There’s probably a hundred YouTube vids out there but, who has time for that? It’s like asking for directions when lost, haha.

Right rear roller is shot while the other three are still in good shape. I suspect it’s heat related because the burner is low on that side.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676311661.jpg

Now on the hunt for replacements trying to avoid the pitfalls of obviously inferior ‘compatible’ crap. Don’t feel like doing this again a year from now but damn it if “original OEM’ replacements aren’t $60-70! Insane!

Whatever goes in, I’m going to try to shield that side from the heat. There is just no other explanation for that side to fail like that. Interesting the front rollers are blue with part numbers in the casting but the rears are yellow without PNs. Easy to explain the color coding from a manufacturing perspective but all parts references I’ve found list all four as the same part.

Repaired some of our Costco coach led porch lights. These things are at least 8 years old. Rather than dump $$$ into 7 new light, due to the failing led drivers, I reached out to the manufacturer. New led plates, photo cell and no driver required.

Since my 92 Pancho Weaver Trans Am spec race car benefits from the help of a race engineer and a great mechanic this time I got to drop it off partially disassembled.
Minus front brakes and transmission and let them fix it.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676593254.jpg
Fresh 18 degree 750hp engine install, remove muffler install straight pipe.
Replace the Weismann transmission with a G force GSR transmission with a custom input shaft.
Since my current steel driveshaft likely will not fit with the new GSR decided to upgrade to a carbon fiber driveshaft.
Lighter good for 6 to 8 hp more to the tires, and safer compared to having a steel driveshaft fail and cause expensive damage to the car or me.
Also my current aluminum 3rd member housing with a locker will become a spare.
Instead we will use a lightened steel 3rd member for strength and a torsen gleason differential.
The torsen gleason is smoother and easier to drive on gas exiting corners compared to the harshness of the locker.
Install new Alcon 6 piston front calipers, new hubs and rotors too.
Install new Gold heat barrier firewall material.
New oil filters and breathers and the swedged PTFE Dry sump oil lines (3 lines, 1 inch in diameter that run from the engine to the 5 gallon oil tank near the right rear tire, 2 lines for scavenging 1 line to deliver oil to the engine). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/smi14.gif

Helping my brother-in-law out. Lost a wheel cover on trip in the Continental so I found him a replacement but it was from a Grand Marquise, same cover, different center cap. So, he had some extra wheel covers from a parts car that are in pretty rough shape but the center caps are decent. Took the covers apart, broke rusty screws, fun stuff. Anyhoo, got the center caps out and refurbishing them. They are clear acrylic and painted from behind. There is a silver foil emblem and then they are sprayed black, then silver over the black. I removed any flaking remnants of black paint by lightly sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper, then used a 3000 grit trizac pad followed by some marine polish to remove any fine scratches. Ready to paint now. Here are pics showing the clarity of the acrylic and also another cap showing what I am starting with.

~30yo cheapo faucet dripping every 5min on cold. Probably not going to find a replacement cartridge at this point. Don't like it much either.

Once got a free Grohe faucet and thought it was new. The cartridge sure is. Wasn't told of any problems and a little bummed. The inside of the faucet was caked with calcium.

I had exercised the shutoff valves before. They didn't want to turn at first. WD40 and patience helped. Tightened the from cap to stop dripping from handle.
Back and forth. Ran full water without the diffuser while turning to flush the chunks.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676773315.jpg

After 2x cleaning and re-greasing ,the fountain spray turned into a slight dribble out the top edges onto the counter.
Still not right.
No leaking with the cartridge in the off position. The white arrow seals are what I'm suspecting at this point.
(the top one doesn't have any bulge left to contact the faucet cylinder)

I may be missing a part. Have to check diagram again. At this point considering buying a new faucet.

Some dog distraction or stupidity led to me snapping the cabinet door at a 45. Ughh.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676773339.jpg

Should be good to go in a week.
The wood glue became gummy after a few hours and I was able to press that splinter flush.

It seems like NO online website wants to provide actual dimensions for their product...
Bippidy-boppidly fun videos are fun but they don't provide any actual information.

Went to Menards today.
Couldn't find anything that would work and looked good. All the bathroom faucets extended about 3-5" long and I need a ~9" to get anywhere near the center of the sink.
A 4" long faucet would spray onto the edge of the sink and countertop.
Not very practical..
I don't need a two foot tall square tower pillar. Don't need a recessed handle. Don't need a half dozen different brands all offering the exact same styles and colors.

Went to Lowes.
-Haven't been there in a while since every single time they were out of basic items such a deck screws and washers. Last fall they were out of gutter leaf protectors and stopped selling outdoor storage boxes. In fall. C'mon now, really? Seasonal products ring any bell? Bueller?

-The last time I went to that Lowes there was a serious "Michigan contractor man" who was on a loud but logical yelling rant to five employees about some major continuous f-up with their delivery system and use of 3rd party idiots.
He made sense from what I overheard.
(friendly word of business advice: You don't piss off the head guy in charge of purchasing for hundreds of apartments.)

-First thing I get through the Lowes door is a big guy, standing center of the walkway, elbows out, who demands "Help you with something?" That's how you say it to someone walking up your drive in the middle of the night. Wow. I've got three properties paid in full, three vehicles, five bank accounts. Did I not pass the dress code?

-Go to to the Lowes faucet isle and found at least three that might work, but I kept getting distracted and annoyed. There was a 12" security camera pad with my face on it that kept ringing off loudly every ten to twenty seconds. "DING" "DING" "DING" "DING". Every single time I moved it would go off like some Pavlovian experiment. Going through TSA is less intrusive.

-I make a complaint to the Lowes manager, a plump young hipster type with colored hair. and buttery soft hands. Definitely a personal history of building there. She tells me they've had a problem with theft. Obviously customers are shoving sinks and faucets into their pockets and walking out the front door. I tell her I'm a professional model and charge a million bucks per image. I want them to erase all my video record. Oh, and uh CYA.
[/rant]

I don't want a plain jane kitchen faucet from the local hardware store, but that may happen. Geesh.
