Yep, 44 mag is more than sufficient for black bear, anyway.

I agree, Freedom Arms makes one beautiful revolver. One of the best made guns I've ever owned. Stuffed full of .45 Colts, with the proper bullet, it will be every bit as effective on black bear as it is with .454 Casull loads. You'll have a much better chance of hitting them, too. Remember - quiet hits count more than loud misses.
