Who’s going to win Game of Thrones?

My theory,

Martin based this on the war of the roses, so all the major players are dead at the end and a nobody like hoster Tully gets the crown.

Warnermedia Entertainment will win, or indirectly AT&T.

I'm thinking if I sign up for the 7 day trial, then pay for 1 month of HBONow I can get all the episodes in for $15. Might have to wait a couple days to watch the first one.

Same plan here. Last thing I need is more tv in my life.

cmccuist 04-08-2019 01:36 PM

Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons.

Yea, not her. Too obvious. Not John Snow either, also too obvious. And not Cercei. Too evil.

My money's on Tyrion. He's 11 to 1 in most books. Plus, you may get a bonus because isn't he still kind of married to Sansa? I know she had that domestic-abuse-rich marriage to Ramsey.

She's going off at 5 to 1. You could get the both of them and if either wins, you still cash in!

What are the odds on the night king taking it all?

There is only one book taking bets on that guy and he's at 10 to 1. Getting a dragon didn't help him that much apparently.

Win?

So it really is about a game, I thought it was some olden times drama

What a load of crap.
I'm on hold with with HBO customer service to get a refund on my internet connection bill for the bandwith I wasted downloading Series 8..

the person on the other line is very confused

Yes I know I don't have HBO an HBO isn't the same as bittorent but I still want a F'ing refund!!!

Meanwhile I'm downloading all the twilight movies since well quite frankly, The only way is Up from where I am now. And I never would have imagined me saying it, but maybe Twilight wasn't as bad as I always thought it was.

I hope the books are totally different if they ever get published.

not battlestar galactica bad, but a disappointment.

yellowperil 05-20-2019 11:14 AM

I liked it, ending was a bit predictable. I knew Khaleesi was going down. Who knows, maybe she'll be back in the sequel. My favorite, Dinklage's character got a get out of jail pass, which was the right thing. IMO

It (8 seasons) was a long, cold, bloody mess that was at most times a bit hard to watch. Glad it's over, really. BTW my least favorite character was Jon Snow by a long shot. Flat emotionless actor IMO.

rattlsnak 05-20-2019 12:00 PM

I have definitely seen more people rant about hating the ending then those who liked it, but while I thought it was a bit flat, not sure what people were really wanting?? Now that it has sunk in, it probably was the best ending possible I think. Jon did not want the throne and truly belongs in the north once he crossed the wall, he is finally free with the wildlings.. Dany was truly going mad with power and a dragon, tyrion was/is the intellect, grey worm went back to his girlfriends island, cersei and jamie are dead, sansa is queen of the north, Arya went off to discover foreign lands, bran became king, etc.. What were people expecting? Maybe a more violent ending or unpredictable ending like the season finales over the previous seasons? Idk..

Bran Stark: King of the Wait, Who?:)

I thought it was crap. They were trying to shove 10 tons of crap into a 1 oz bucket and it showed. In early seasons it took anyone several episodes to get anywhere, now all of a sudden in the final episode, all the major houses apparently teleported to Westeros in time to select a new king. Almost none of it made any sense.

Also, after all the "Winter is Coming" crap, it's sunny in King's Landing, then it snows for about 1.5 days, then sunny again? Must be brutal:/

rattlsnak 05-20-2019 12:09 PM

^^ They stated a couple of weeks had passed before the people got there to select a new king.. And I dont think that was snow. I was under the impression it was ashes falling down from all the burning.. (for days)

Ya I get they tried to show some time had passed, but throwing in some dialogue that says "here we are, several weeks later" is a lazy ass way of doing it.

If that was supposed to be ashes raining down, could have fooled me. Never seen bright white ash before and exactly why would fire pointed direct down cause raining ash? Did a volcano erupt they forgot to mention?

Well, you've probably never seen a real dragon before either so who knows.. ha ha ..

And now my watch is ended.

Cancelled HBO tonight. With the 7 day free trial I got all the episodes in for a one month subscription. Watched the second season of Westworld, and a few other movies. I'm not going to say it was worth it, but it made the wife happy to watch the episodes real time, so I guess that's worth it.
