I suspect thats mostly it. Like all the youtube kids putting ski boxes on their lamborghinis and what with the overlanding and safari 911 fads going on. But there is certainly times i could use a roof box or rack especially with 4 people in the car

It’s probably not bad. Back when they were new I used to take my 996 skiing, and in the summer mountain biking. It was pretty quiet in the car. Can’t see that being much noisier.

Fun fact. VW accessories fit on the Porsche rack. They cost 1/3 what tequipment did.
Found that out because the GF at the time had a beetle and I was *****ing at paying $400 for a snowboard holder.

timely thread as I've got a burning desire to build BMW 635D safari spec., ie lifted, off road tyres, snorkel, sump guard, spot lights, roof tent, back seat delete for fridge and mini bar etc for European touring and camping
