Project Half11 - Porsche 911-Based

A new bold project aimed to base its styling off a 911-ish. Oil Stain Lab, the creators of what you see below, wanted to build a tube-framed V8-powered sports car with the face of an air-cooled 911. You'll also notices its wide rear track and giant tires that resemble something off of a Le Mans race car.

Oil Stain Lab’s Nikita Bridan said:

The car is generally there, the car is cut, the roll cage is somewhat built out and a lot of the parts have been purchased. What hasn’t been built yet is being refined in CAD programs. We are probably about six-nine months away from being able to drive it… however it may be done faster or (take) longer, we have no idea.
Check out the series of renderings on Oil Stain Lab’s Instagram here.

Love it or hate it?

If it performs we'll claim it as one of ours.

If it fails; it's a 911 fake :D

That’s ridiculous.

Feel free to quote me.

They’re a couple of really creative guys. Have done some other neat projects. I’ve been wondering for quite some time if this was a real project, or just a ruse.
See @dropped_alpha in instagram.
Best of luck with this project!!!

I hope it’s fast and handles better than a well set up 944, because it’s UGLY as *****.

Yeah, wouldn't be as bad if the front tires were outside the body.

But all in all, that's ridiculous.

Awful...

id10t 04-08-2019 05:31 PM

I can appreciate the skills and technology needed to do something like this.

It also makes me start to hurl.

Not a fan.

Have the CAD guy put 917 or even better 908 rear bodywork, shorter axles, or at least some axles, though I do appreciate the airy look of the last rendering without them.

I dislike the green one with the flares slightly less.

It looks like it went off the road, fell in a canyon and hit every branch on an ugly tree on the way down.

I like 99% of the cars Emory makes. I’m hoping this isn’t the finished product of the rear.

Were they practicing their foul arts on a BMW Isetta by any chance?

These types of projects work if they are done in fun, and don't get too serious. Anyone serious about 911's is going to hate it.

I like the BMW Isetta, but the projects above and below not so much. I have see a few hot rod Isetta's before that I liked, just did not find that image today.

My point being that perhaps hot rodding a 911 can be done, I just don't think this is the one.

I like it. It would look better if the rear tires were tucked in a little but overall pretty cool.
