A charity event for St. Jude held in Georgia. Women's pro LoreeJon doing trick shots, set up an easy wired one for Larry. Trying to be funny, he wasn't. She hands to face after he tossed her cue.

In Larry's defense, he probably thought a 2 piece cue was something bought at Wal-Mart for $30. Probably didn't know that there are "cue builders" out there who have waiting lists years long and can charge 5 figures for a cue.

Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia - up I-85 from Atlanta about an hour.

My wife and I sat in that lounge for about an hour back in December waiting for our dinner reservation for our anniversary.

My wife and I attended a wedding reception there last year , the place wreaks of money ! It was a nice place to visit , we can check it off the bucket list and we'll probably never go back :D

The Russia comment was his ‘thing’ before he got big. Called in to one of the DC rock stations as a comedian on a regular basis.

We've all seen that Lincoln SUV commercial where actor Matthew McConahey (sp?) makes a tricky Masse' shot with the 9 being pocketed as he drives off...

Well, here's a comment made by the trick shot artist who really made that shot...

I use that shot for the crowd too and I am glad that has never happened to me. I wasn't there to know if it was part of the act but she did react as if she did not want that to happen. I don't know if Larry was drunk during this or not. Some people treat pool equipment like this because they only know drunken bar pool. Not trying to let him off the hook if this was not part of the show but just sharing an observation. I may have people use their own cue for this shot now or use a bar cue.

IDK much about pool even though I have held a table long enough to get drunk on other's beer.

Seems to me LTCG could have potentially done more damage to the table felt than the cue. I mean aren't those things built to take a lickin'? Hitting the floor of an angle probably didn't help the tip but other than that I doubt it got a scratch.

Besides, he could buy a new cue, the table and the whole damn bar if he wanted to.

Not really about the money. And the way the cue rattle across the table rail, it was bound to pick up dings. Many table makers use laminate for rail tops, others use epoxy infused wood to harden. That table looked like an Olhausen...very tough rails.

Cues...although the pros often use (sponsor) factory cues...you can bet those cues aren't exactly as they come off the assembly line. Best ranked rotation player now is Shane Van Boening sponsored by Cuetec. Some time back his playing cue was stolen. His game took a downturn until he got used to the replacement cue. It's a "feel" thing at that level. Probably some superstition entering in as well...pool, like golf, is vey much a mental game.

Let's put it this way...I'd be more upset if my Keith Josey cue was stolen than if my Mustang was stolen. (edit) Easy to find a replacement Mustang, with the cue, I'd have to wait perhaps years for Keith to make another one. At my age & health issues, might not have those years.

No it's not about the money. I didn't see it the way you do having a cue that can't be easily replaced. I guess you could chalk my comment up to LTCG thinking that he could cover his flippant behavior.

My question now might be why is the trick shot artist using that special of a cue? You indicate that there are different cues used during the game. Would your bank shot cue be your first choice to jump the ball?

Seriously, I don't know.

Most pros use 3 different cues during a match. Break cue with stiff taper and hard tip. Playing cue for shots and banks, various tapers and tips depending on preference. And a special jump cue...short butt section, stiff shaft and hard tip.

Trick shot artists are a whole different game, using all sorts of variety. The shots Loreejon did on this video are all pretty standard stuff....but then, she was a top female pro in her day. Once played Mike Seigel an 8 ball match with $150,000 on the line. She lost, but to even make it that far in the old IPT days was quite an accomplishment. So, I'd say she used her playing cue....not a special trick shot cue.

(edit) Just for you...a link to a 37 minute match between Skyler Woodward of the USA vs. Jayson Shaw of Scotland. Skyler a young Dog nipping at the heels of Shane Van Boening, currently ranked #1 on the planet...Skyler ranked around 40th, Shaw #2. Mosconi Cup...a very loud audience...team play between USA and Europe held every year. First team to win 11 matches wins the cup. Short races to 5...9 ball...tons of pressure. You can see all 3 cues, break, jump, and playing being used here. The main commentator a past world pool masters champion...knows the game well.

I only played pool to be social, in the beginning I got scolded for a couple of stupid thing but nothing as radical as what Larry did.
