Scam or legit?
I got an email this morning with this title:
AMAZON has an important Notification of payment For you! It appears to be from "Amazon.com" Between the < and the > is this: admin@ph.regtt.online The body of the email states "Amazon Prime 1 year free" Seems too good to be true... there is a "GET YOURS NOW!" button... I would like to try the service for free, seems fishy- What do you guys and gals think, scam?? |
Scam.

I'll report it to Amazon, thanks!
I did not find anything on snopes or a basic search, it looks legit except the sender's address is not at all right... Seems like if you have that much skill you could get legitimate work, jerks! |
Most are looking for your login info.
Don't click on links, go to a website directly, either through favorites, or typing it in. If I hover mouse pointer over a link, it will show the redirected address. |
It did not take long to get a response from the mighty Amazon:
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com to bring this to our attention. Your message has been forwarded to our security department, and we will investigate the situation. Please note that you may not receive a personal response. In all likelihood, the message you received was not sent to you by Amazon.com. We strongly advise that you *not* send any information about yourself back to this individual (especially your credit card number or any personal information). |
ph.regtt.online is certainly not an amazon domain.
I usually go wtih "if I have to ask if its a scam, its a scam." |
^Sage advice^
My spidey senses were tingling when I looked at the message... then again it may have just been coffee kicking in. Thanks! |
