Lost Bank Envelope with money at Porsche Lit Show-Any help appreciated
I was at the Porsche literature show at the Los Angeles Hilton Saturday March 2, 2019. While in the main ballroom around 7:30 am at table 173, I put down a bank envelope with a considerable amount of money in it. Someone walked off with this envelope. If you have any information or mistakingly took it, please send me a PM. Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Check with Hilton security, they may have cameras.

Why would one do that? An envelope with considerable cash should be kept out of plain sight. Somethings fishy.

Any chance there are cams in that area of the hotel? Probably a long-shot, but might be worth a call to their security office.
EDIT: Looks like Mr. West beat me to it...

I met and chatted with the OP at Swap, where he asked where to best post this and again on the phone today - he is 100% legit and just had an unfortunate oversight.

I'm sorry to hear of your mishap. Just call Mr. Potter's office, he has the envelope.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. I'm also sorry for some of the comments here. You probably know you made a dumb mistake and are beating yourself up over it, you don't need any help for that from PPOT.

He should be working w Hotel security on this. Everyone inside the ballrooms where the show took place had to pass by several cameras to get in. I'd guess at least half a dozen, (and maybe many more), including facial close-ups in the bottleneck where the tables were selling tickets and admitting people. 7:30 AM would be only other vendors and early admission people, the big crowds showed up an hour later. It won't take Columbo to solve this one.

OK....mebbe a low-life thief like me picked it up and had a change of heart
...I just threw the last part in...hope he's doing as you suggested. Actually...if I "found" something just laying there....I would take it and wait for someone to return, or try to find them, etc. Still...best of luck! |

My guess is the minimum wage hotel staff had a wind fall. You need to see what security footage exists.

You didn't mention it, but did you check with the hotel's lost and found?

Was it a sufficient amount that the police would assist? Technically it was a crime...
