Deontay Wilder - Boxer

Deontay Wilder - Boxer, turned human being via CBS This Morning TV program.

He was marketed as the bad boy of boxing for years, now suddenly CBS turns him into a soft hearted father and lovable guy.

I've seen this guy box a few times on TV, there is a dark core you do not want to be on the receiving end of.

Will the big "make-over" take?

I think he likes hurting people too much for it to stick, and it's very difficult to be a nice guy in the ring and be successful.

EDIT:
Found the video interview online.

Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder earned a fearful reputation for his power in the boxing ring. He plans to use it Saturday night in an electrifying title bout against Dominic Breazeale in New York. But what happens to all that power and intimidation outside the ring? Dana Jacobson found out. Air Date: May 18, 2019

I'm a nice guy that can whop your arse...............

Anything you say.

There's a reason the UFC and WWE are so popular, they are entertainment where the more flamboyant and outrageous you are, the bigger the contract ($$$) you get. I don't think he is a saint but he also understands the game and tries to maximize it to his benefit, and I can't blame him .

I also like to see him beat the crap out of internet trolls until they cry... Like this guy who was known for going to gyms and would just start fighting guys to try and prove how strong he was. His mouth went a little too far when he started in on Wilder.

There is a lot more to the back story documented on the internet too, like when the troll decided to bring his daughter, the one mentioned above with spinabifida, into the conversation. I'm surprised Wilder didn't kill him.

First round KO.

Wilder is now 40-0-1 with 40 KO’s. The tie happened because the opponent was able to get back up in time.

Link to "fight".

Well, that looks like his old self - going for the kill like a fox on a chicken.

Deontay Wilder's performance against Gerald Washington (former football player) was confusing.

I like Gerald Washington, but he is stiff and awkward, looks like a target not a fighter despite his impressive physical build - he just doesn't move like a boxer. To my eyes Washington had been fighting some over the hill fighters, or guys so out of shape I'm surprised they passed the physical.

The fact there was a Wilder V Washington fight dumbfound me, but Washington was winning all the rounds, right up to the point when Wilder knocked him out. Wilder then danced about the ring shouting at the crowd that had turned on him "I told you so" - in ugly indignation, throwing his fists.

I guess Wilder didn't want people turning on him like that again.

Deontay Wilder Vs Gerald Washington

You can skip to the 15:00 mark to watch a minute of lackluster boxing followed by a KO, and then the "I told you so" taunt to the crowd.

I'm surprised that Wilder didn't kill him. That guy is a head case and he's had his ass beat several times on tape, including by complete amateurs.
