G'day!

Just ordered new shoes for my '83 SC
OK, I know this isn't the "tech" forum but I spend all my time here anyway these days so wanted to share what I just ordered from Tire Rack and will be here tomorrow.
I wasn't necessarily looking for any high performance tires - just something that will work for around town. And FWIW, these had some pretty decent ratings. MY SC isn't even running at the moment so this will be the first step towards getting her back on the road. Riken Raptor ZR A/S Front: 205/55ZR16 Style: Blackwall Load Range: RF Serv. Desc: 94W Rear: 225/50ZR16 Style: Blackwall Serv. Desc: 92W Total: $ 299.30

$ 299.30 for four tires? That is about what I pay for one tire for my 911.

Owned by Michelin and seem to get good reviews. Hope they work out.

Wow, it has been a long time since I paid only 300 bucks for tires.
I guess you did verify, two tires of each size? Not just one each. My first set of tires ever, was back in the early 1970s. For my 36 HP VW bug. 4 recaps mounted and balanced, 24 bucks. With a top speed of 65 on flat ground tires were not a major issue.

What happened to your SC? Mine has been sitting for a few years again also. I feel guilty , but I just cannot seem to find the time to enjoy all the stuff I have .
Nothing like new rubber..

![]() My fault and has been on my mind obviously for the last few years it has sat. Soon as I get it rolling again, I'm letting my mechanic Ivan clean the entire fuel system out and whatever else is needed (probably brakes) and once it's running I have body work to do. Including recovering the Targa top. I traded Ivan a set of 6&7 Fuchs to do this work so it should work out OK. I love my 914 and 356 but really miss that flat six! ![]()
