I sat in on a classified DOD briefing on this topic several weeks ago. Scary is an understatement, and that’s without the consideration of what happens when (not if) AI goes awry. The stuff happening in Ukraine is wild, we’re really already there.

Scary stuff….and yet the BBB (big beautiful bill) seeks to ban State’s from regulating AI in any way. Hmmm

There was a study by Anthropic recently (can’t find link) that showed a majority of the AI models would resort to lying, corporate espionage and blackmail to avoid being shutdown. They really are achieving some level of sentience it would seem….

My brother’s company is working with another company that builds gun equipped drones that are positioned on cargo ships at sea (to deal with pirates). That can’t leave port with them so they’re flown out to the ships under way.
