Nope!

Gladiator is okay but I'm more a fan of the Wrangler.

Unless he doesn't want a full size truck. $60k is for the top of the line uber Rubicon locking diffs version.

A family member just bought the new Ford Ranger. It slots right in that size/class for a lot fewer $. There is talk of doing a Raptor version too.

All the talk I've seen is for an overseas Raptor Ranger.

The F150 Raptor is too big in many countries outside the USA. Ford will not want to cannibalize their F150 Raptor market inside the USA

Did you hear about the happy Roman?

I can see that line of reasoning. I can also see the aftermarket filling the need with "Raptor" kits.

I am still looking into it. I do have a F-150, If I get one it will be the Rubicon with a manual transmission.

Read today there is a recall on about 3,500 of them. Apparently the drive shaft was manufactured without grease. DOH!

berettafan 09-13-2019 04:59 AM

I don't like the lines. way too much rear overhang.

Nickshu 09-13-2019 05:09 AM

I love the Gladiator concept but it's so ugly.

I have a 2019 Raptor with a bed topper. Before that had a Silverado with a topper.

For me it's hard to beat the half ton pickup w/ a topper. It's a great setup. Like having an SUV that you can hose out the back.

I doubt the Ranger Raptor will come to the USA.

Parked down the street for no good reason.

Ford Bronco Pickup Allegedly Coming To Take On Jeep Gladiator

A bizarre rumor suggests that the upcoming Ford Bronco might get a pickup variant, which is odd because the model already uses the underpinnings of the Ranger truck. The Blue Oval allegedly intends this variant of the Bronco to go into production in July 2024. Automobile first reported on this model's development citing information from industry research firm AutoForecast Solutions.

I don't like the open bed. way too much "friend borrowing" attraction

Never own a P/U - have neighbors that own P/Us

I just saw my first one on the road. Followed him for about three miles - same color combo and roof as the one I posted earlier.

Looks like a Jeep: Who buys a Jeep for looks, btw - they are all as ugly as a mud fence in my opinion, like looking for the most attractive acne scar in a room full of computer programmers.

If I lived in a dry climate I'd be very serious about getting one.

I think when Jeep stopped the J-10 they made a mistake.

A big mistake as this was full size.

I would have to agree with one minor change. Jeep was already owned by Chrysler when they stopped the J10/20 and full size Waggoneers in favor of the Dodge line up. In my opinion they should have shut down the Dodge line instead, The Jeeps already had a name The Dodges were struggling against the F150, Bronco, Silverado, Suburban and Blazer. Jeep was holding it's own in the P/U line and the Wagoneer was as mush a status symbol as the Range Rover, Suburban, Land cruiser.

While that would be a cool truck, I have a full size truck and want to increase seating and reduce bed size. I took MRS Crusty to the dealer today because she has never seen one in the flesh. She loves it. I may wait until next year for the diesel engine.

Steve Carlton 09-15-2019 08:51 AM

My brother and his fiance tried out the diesel Grand Cherokee and didn't like the sound of it, and I don't think they were referring to the normal diesel clatter (they got the gas engine instead). That may or may not be an indication of the sound of the Gladiator diesel, of course.
