My son delivered his son!
Need a feel good story? My son and his wife are both Army officers stationed at Ft. Bragg. He just started the Special Forces Q School yesterday. She's a Nurse. Today he delivered their second child in the car in their driveway. I guess this kid couldn't wait and came Army style. She woke at 3 or so in the morning and told him her contractions had started and they needed to make their way to the hospital. By the time they got to the car he was on the way. Luckily he stayed calm and had his Mom and my daughter there to help. He called 911 and the operator walked him through the delivery. Car content part. He's got a Golf R and Excursion that was his Grandpa's and a Rav4 that he's not fond of that his wife drives. I asked him which car the kid was delivered in. His response "thankfully it was Jess's Rav" :-)
Welcome Lyle Hynes to the world. ![]() My ex sent me this photo of him in the driveway right after the birth.

Congrats, Grandad!
Nice work to stay calm in a pressurized situation. Probably helped to have a nurse in the car at the time too!

Congrats Grandpa!
He should keep that seat from the car if he can't keep the car. Hopefully the new grandson is a real car guy when he grows up.

Yea, the poor kid will never get a nice present that is not "both birthday and Christmas" combined. My brother was born in July, he never got a joint present. I was born in November, and got a lot of stuff that was a both Christmas and birthday present. Of course I was the second child as well.
I was badly abused to have loving parents and get presents that were for two events. Really a first world problem.

He's not Navy, but I suppose he can still say he laid the keel and performed the launching.
