Telemarketing call reduced?

I just checked the call log for my home phone line. Only 7 calls since the 17th of December. Wow.

Just a few months back I was getting 10 to 12 per day.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2019/12/19/robocalls-rang-consumers-billion-times-congress-just-adopted-new-law-fight-back/

Maybe the upcoming law about robocalls will help even more.

Two of the seven calls I got since the 17th were about my car's warranties are about to expire, and they will close the books if I don't call them back to extend my warranty. If I am bored, I will call them and ask what the warranty will cost to extend the one on my 1986 El Camino with only 369,000 miles on it. The jerks just hang up. I called back and asked whet the warranty was going to cost for my 1985 911 with just 175,000 miles and they hung up again! So they really do not want my business after all.

And for all of you thinking what a land line???

I would kill it in a heartbeat, but my wife wants to keep it. Happy wife, happy life = we have a landline that gets used once or twice per month maximum. For the $4.95 per month, it is still a waste, but a small one.

They do seem to be slowing down in frequency. I appreciate that.

I have noticed the same . As a matter of fact, I am starting to get rusty at my canned telemarketer sales pitch. I am also thankful . I got a few" update your google listing "calls this week, but that is it .
Seems to have gone from about 3-7 a day, to a few a week. I can handle that .

I have a land line and love it. I use a Magic Jack and it has an option where the caller has to press one more number to get through. This eliminates all telemarketing/scammers. 100%.

The only calls I get now are from real people whom I do want to hear from.

It's beautiful....

I still have a land line, VOIP though. About $5/month. I seem to be getting less BS calls also. Lately my SS number has been compromised or my Icloud account. More on the cell than the land line. Only getting a couple per day though. I was getting several daily.

I seem to be getting fewer calls too. I attributed it to switching from Verizon to Consumer Cellular.

When I was approaching age 65 I was getting 8 to 12 calls per DAY about picking my healthcare plan B provider. It was relentless. The tons of mailers were easy enough to throw in the trash. I even had one person ring my doorbell. If I had been thinking I would have gotten her business card and turner her in to the insurance commissioner, as that is illegal to solicit insurance that way.

All the other BS scammer calls continued as well. Now sometimes I can go all full day and the land line does not ring.

LOL, I bought my wife a cell phone with Consumer Cellular service. Within one day of purchase, she started getting robocalls, never having given out the number to any entity.

You got lucky, my friend! Good on you.
