Dead People

I was looking in my phone and I see dead people. Everywhere...

I need to purge my contact list...

GH85Carrera 01-07-2020 01:27 PM

I just deleted one contact that was a friend. He went and died on me. It is weird to just delete that contact but it is gone now.

The hardest one to delete was my dad's contact. We disconnected that phone, and sold his house and yet it was hard to punch delete this contact.

It is an unfortunate part of getting older, now I go to more funerals than weddings.

I don't have that many phone contacts like that, but I do have some facebook and/or linkedin contacts that have died. It's always a little weird when folks post to them that don't realize that they have passed.

Everyone needs to maintain an account list to be deleted in the even of Death.

What bugs me is gmailhell (been using it since it was by invite only)....went through the alphabet with just the first letter (which will show everyone....forever).

Who the hell are all these folks from 2 decades ago :(?

I have a contact I can't delete... a girl I dated f0r a bit.. we went our separate ways.. but threw out a "hey" text every now and then..

She was learning to skydive while we were dating...

Texted me once Hey I'm finally soloing... sent me a pic..

A few weeks go by.. get a text " I'm going to jump again Saturday"

Sunday I text her ask how it went and a series of weird reply's came. This is Charles, Alexa's boyfriend, who are you? She had an accident and is unresponsive..

I had no idea whether or not this was a sick joke...

But she did die from her injuries.. doing what she loved..

And I'll never delete her contact, or picture...

Because she was a good person, who I shared some good times with..

Imagine looking at Hillary's phone contact list...it would always be changing, and probably have many "HANG" ups !

Oh Jesus I cried the day my dad died. I'd organised to go on a trail bike ride with friends in some hills, and this was going to be my only chance to ride them. But my sister said "The bastard's starting to stink already, get rid of him." So I had to spend just about all day digging a hole under the rose bushes in the back yard. Even if I could have made the trail bike ride I'd have been to tired anyway after all the digging. But it's all worked out well as we get to spend his air force pension on more interesting things.

My former commanding officer in the USN, during Desert Storm, died in September and I attended his funeral in Pensacola. I will not delete his contact info... I just cannot do it. This was the toughest loss I've ever experienced.

I have dozens of old business contacts in my phone. Most of them don’t have any note attached so I don’t know who the hell they are. They’re dead to me now, so RIP.

I had a friend that passed from lung cancer a couple of years ago. I saw her a week before she died.
I still have her contact info on my phone. When I scroll through my contact list and see her name I think of her.
