My brother's shop adventure

I was asked about my brother's new shop in another thread so thought I'd elaborate here rather than hijack that thread as it was about roll up doors.
This will be about the adventures I've been having with my brother over the past year, getting his new place ready to occupy. Divorce is not often pretty and causes major lifestyle changes, but, it is what it is.
So, here are some pics of the new shop he had built for his machines (Bridgeport, lathe, drill press, brake etc etc.) and will also be used for final clean assembly of project cars, or so I'm told.
It started with a 13'x35' pad being formed up and poured.

Then the building was delivered and assembly started.

The idea was to add shop floor space for the machinery since the BIG shop was going to have cars parked in it. That shop work will get a thread unto itself as it is still in-progress, as is this little shop.
After it was put up we found that it would get really warm inside since the walls were not insulated at all from the sun. So, we set about spraying insulation.

If you've never done this, it is a job not taken lightly. We managed to get it all sprayed in about 4-5 hrs, working methodically as a team. He was spraying, I was moving the equipment/ladder/cardboard as needed to try to keep the place clean.

Now that it's cured, we've been spending time putting up siding that he's salvaged to give it that 'old machine shop' look.

Our latest efforts mounted the wood for the gun racks and sheet metal beneath it.

I've asked what company did the building construction but I haven't heard back from him yet. When I do, I'll post the info.

Like I said, this is a work in progress but it's been great working with my brother on it.

I'm seeing a distinct lack of phone/network cables. You (and he) realize that in a metal box you won't be getting wireless network or likely cell phone service? I'd run a second trench for a few CAT5 lines, one can be used for data the other for phone. Once a jack is in the metal shed, then you can plug a wireless AP into it to provide wireless inside the metal box.

This place is so far out that it doesn't matter if you're in a steel box or out, there's very sketchy cell service anyways.

Very cool construction! Are the metal tubes welded together?

I wasn't there for the build unfortunately, Shaun. I don't think all that many junctions were welded. I know my brother had to go get a welder for them to use as there were some changes that required one.

They moved some of the posts for the garage door installation.
