What's going on? I've been dreaming like crazy lately .

Winter in Pa sucks. I'm cold and tired at the end of the day . I've been putting little guy to bed at 9:30, then pretty much, just climbing into bed shortly after, watching a little tube and crashing . I have not seen the 11:00 news in more than a month.
I've been sleeping like a baby, and feel great in the morning, but man, I have been having vivid crazy dreams . Not nightmares, most of it has been pretty pleasant .
I like to tell my wife about them in the morning , but could not tell her all the details about last nights .
I remember nearly everything, and a lot of it is very similar to my real life. My wife and kids, my cars, work, and house have been in most of them . Lots of parallels to my real life .
Some of the stuff is bizarre though.
Makes me wonder if those thoughts are really inside my head .

I went snow skiing last night. Hiked across a ridge to get to the area. Slopes couldn't have been more than a 100 yards in length. There was a golf course at the bottom with people golfing. I purchased a half day pass for $250 which seemed to be a bargain.

Try and think about your diet lately. Have removed or added anything? Liquid or solid, consider it all.

Are you hydrating more than usual?

I think you're getting some fantastic rest and the brain is freewheeling along nicely.

Good for you!

Dreams are just the mind letting go and having fun entertaining itself. I have some bizarre dreams that at the time seem totally reasonable. The other night I was riding a huge fish that had spikes growing out of it's back that were perfect handles. Push or pull and the fish would steer where I wanted to go, and somehow I was breathing and not wet so I guess we were flying and not underwater. Yea, that makes sense.

I never have nightmares, just night-funnies. I often wake up my wife because I cam giggling because I am having so much fun or seeing something funny.

Just relax and have fun in your sleep. They ultimate cheap thrill.

I don't think that you're dreaming more. I think that you're remembering your dreams more, which to me says that you may not be sleeping quite as well. Maybe you're starting to wake up in the morning or something. I think we dream pretty much every time we sleep. It's my understanding that you can train yourself to remember your dreams (it's a process). I rarely remember my dreams. Most often it's because I am disturbed or something while I'm still dreaming.

I think that dreaming is also part of the mechanism that the brain uses to filter and process all the input that the senses have taken in during the previous waking period. Some of what our senses take in is filtered so that we can concentrate on our daily tasks and not be overloaded by stimuli. During sleep, the brain sorts out this stuff and discards some of it, while placing more useful things into long-term or short-term memory.

It's my understanding that you only remember a dream if you happen to wake up in the midst of it.

Dreams are associated with the mind moving information from shorter term memory into the "right" place in long term memory - with the right connections, emotional content and problem solving.

Maybe you not dreaming more but your REM sleep is being interrupted as masraum said.

If there is an issue - tired during the day, falling asleep, etc. then you need to see an MD in behavioral medicine.

I've got the opposite: not sleeping well (probably due to my back pain and meds) and not getting deep enough to dream. My long gone dogs used to come visit me in my dreams, and I miss not seeing them.

Good thing it wasn't your long gone ex wife. Funny, in dreams she wasn't so bad.

I actually met her last month for the 1st time since we got divorced in 1978. Now, I know I'm no beauty, but damn, her butt (which used to be fantastic) is now wider than some doors.

Sad.

I worked in sales and distribution for a milk company for 25 years. 16 years later I am still having occasional nightmares about shortages.
Last night I dreamed I was on Vancouver Island, driving an old rear wheel drive Corolla through 5 inches of snow. Our friends' last dog was in the car with me and I was trying to get it to their new home. Just too much fun m

Eating cheese before bedtime can do that too.

Also Malay chicken curry. Something about the herbs and spices.

It sounds like your head is in a happy space to have such good dreams.

I worked in a retail parts store for about 3 years when I was younger. They made me a store manager after 2 years. I left about a year later. I initially enjoyed it, but when I got to be manager, I realized that it was not the job/career for me. I remember one dream in particular that I had when I worked there, sometime in the last year that I was there as a manager.

In my dream, I was asleep in my bedroom in my bed in my apt. I woke up and there was a counter shoved up against the edge of my bed. There was a line of greasy, smelly, nasty folks holding all manner of old greasy parts, starters, alternators, water pumps, ball joints, etc... formed from the counter, down the hall and down the stairs. I rarely remember dreams, and when I do, they are very, VERY rarely bad so that one has stuck.

I had the queen of England in the back of a 1960's Ford comet haulin azz down some long descending road. She was whooping it up to go faster.

Weird. I don't know the queen.

It heat related, too hot at night, same reason your dreams are crazy when you have a fever.

Leave your feet out of the covers at night and you’ll be fine

Old girlfriend from the 70's. Found her on Google a few years back and she's as frumpy as I am stout.

Couple times a year still have this love affair dream with her that always ends up going south or gets interrupted. Odd thing is it's always her.
