Subject is TIA's, and BTDT?

A guy I know may have experienced a TIA last week that resulted in his first ambulance trip.
Doc said get the blood pressure down, loose some weight, exercise and eat right.
I've never heard of such nonsense! ;)

So, any BTDT stories?

Transient ischaemic attack (TIA)

At 55 I've managed to dodge any serious health issues but I'm on medication for type 2 diabetes and so far things are good.
The worst I've had... I busted up my right shoulder when I was in the Army (I was 24 at the time.)

Recently I said to a friend of mine.
"I should have a good 20 years ahead of me." He replied "followed by 10 bad ones." lol ;)

I really don't like the idea of getting old but it's something we're all facing. And I like the fact that most of us will die of old age.

We're all pretty lucky if you think about it.

Doc gave good advice.

Most of us need to watch what we eat and exercise.

30 years ago cigarettes were killing us. Now it's too much of the wrong kind of food.

Reduce stress and learn to relax. That is a biggie!

eat less and eat less crap. Those two things will cover the "lose weight"

Some exercise wouldn't hurt.

Oh man, that sucks!

Silver lining is the warning shot so close to the bow.

Yes, be more active, consistently. More walking, more moving... anything that makes you breathe more and burn calories.

I know we all become adept at finding low energy solution to our daily lives (parking close, hiring yard services...) When we become too skilled at being lazy... well, you know; Use it or lose it.

That's also the hard part.
Ingrained.

That’s why you need an exit strategy...

So what's your exit strategy?

I don’t know, but I have 20 years hopefully to figure it.

My dad had Alzheimer’s and I told my wife I didn’t want to live like that. My mom took really good care of him and we had a few more years with him, but he wasn’t there and it was sad.

My apologies, Sammy, for getting off track.

No problemo. This is OT after-all ;)

"My friend" has lost 5 lubs so far. Taking a brisk one mile walk every day in addition to regular activities, blood pressure is coming down, feels good.
it's a good start.

Excellent. The more CO2 your friend exhales, the more it pisses off your cousin. ..and burns fat. ;)
