Maybe she got stuck to the mattress again.

Saaaaaamy,

Time out for you.

I may have danced at a few night clubs in the early 80s to some of her pop stuff, but mostly irrelevant since then. I've grown up !

She did an amazing job at extending her 15 min of fame to 30+ min, but time is a cruel bitc..., hmm, mistress.

She was very good at grabbing the spotlight whenever she wanted it.
Buy she is having to work much harder for it lately, and the adoring crowds aren't as big, or as loyal.

Back in the 80s she was something... When she first came onto the scene she was always in the news.
You either loved or hated her. At the time I was dating an Italian girl and she just loved Madonna. Everywhere we went in MY CAR she jam in one of her tapes. :(

He voice was always awful but somehow that didn't matter. She is the best selling female artist ever (Her claim) And she must have made serious money in the 80s and 90s. The industry is totally different now. The money just isn't there unless you are able to do world tours to sold out venues.

She's worth almost $1B, so she's done well....very well. Not many artists can match that success.

svandamme 03-11-2020 01:08 PM

Well she also ran a record label for people like Alanis Morisetten , Erasure, Michelle Brange, the Prodigy.. Not all of her money was made with her own music and shows.
She's always been very business minded. After all, Material Girl...

i am amazed that whack job made 2 pages. u must be bored.

She grew up in my neck of the woods and her family (father) has (or had) a winery nearby. As such, I thought it was particularly endearing when her fake English accent finally blossomed.

Oddly, some of her stuff from the 80's has actually held up decently over time. "Holiday" still has some innocence and charm and "Express Yourself" still sort of works. Also, a whole lot of filler over her career, but she's made it into her 5th decade in the music biz. No mean feat.

Actually, my friend Guy Oseary has been running that company for her since he was 20 years old, (talk about being in the right place at the right time). Imagine being a 22 y.o. running a record company, (back when such things existed), and signing Alanis Morrisette. She then proceeds to sell something like 30 million copies of the first album they release together. I never asked what his bonus worked out to on that but use your imagination.

My guess is cataracts or glaucoma

Crowbob 03-12-2020 02:30 PM

I’m gonna say she suffers from some kind of degenerative joint disease or tendinitis. She’s been stressing her musculoskeleton for decades.

The eyepatch is probably a new-age homopathy therapy from the Congo.

She's a self starter. Own acreage and grow grapes? Good for her.
There are worse things to invest in.

She indicates she is not 'out of the game' at whatever social security age she is at now.
(I personally did not like her music in high school but always glad to see a Michiganer succeed.)
Still looks good for her age.
