Wouldn't be right to not include this one, even if he didn't really do it:

Saw Lolich pitch in 69 there. |
I was at the 81 series when Lopes singled in the 7th to put the Dodgers up by 2! Even the Yankee fans near us took it quite well. One of the more vocal among them ripped off his Yankee's hat and grabbed the Dodger pennant from the fan in from of him, GO DODGERS. We all laughed out butts off. It was a great time. Reggie came back later with a home run that narrowed the lead. We Dodger fans were sweating the load! Man was it fun. We bought them beers and we all agreed what a great game it was.

Thanks for posting the link(s)...brings back a lot of memories.
I wasn't there but watched it live on the tube: Every playground fantasy in living color. Not a Dodger fan but I loved Gibson from his days in college as a football player ad his run with the Tigers...he could play. |

Lolich's record of 3 wins in the 68 series is incredible. Has it ever been done since in a world series? I was at Denny McLain's 29th win. He had two more in that season. Couldn't buy a ticket for those two games. Fun fact: McLain led the league in 68 with most wins (31) Three years later he led the league with most losses (22) |
I was heading home from WESTDIV in San Bruno to Pleasanton, it was a really long day. I was stationed at NAVWPNSTA Concord. I remember it well. I had just come over the crest of the hill and passed Castro Valley exit and BOOOM!!!!! Vin Scully called it out!
I worked in a construction office at the Weapon's station and my staff were all A's fans. They gave me hell all the way up to that game. I didn't say a word. I took my Dodger pennant that was behind my desk and hung it on the bulletin board outside my office. It was great. Finally the Supervisor came in and asked me to "Say it"! It was a great time to be a Dodger fan in the Bay Area. |
