Glock factory night sights?
 

i regret not ordering my Glock with the night-sight option. it was okay back then, but now my eyes..my eyes are weaker in the dark. i dont love that open top box and square thing that much anyways. it is okay. i just like lining up three dots better.

Glock sights from the factory is a steal. $67. i only need to send them the slide.

i am about to box this up. any horror stories?

i dont have a bench vice, i dont have the sight pushing tool, my gunsmith works in dog-years. just ordering the sights mail order gets me to $67 right?

i think the factory option is pretty cost effective. this is my last to reach for handgun. i have Sigs that i shoot way more often.,

I have heard so many say that they aren't really happy with their Glock. I luv mine. Try talking to Lenny Magills shop. They may be able to help you out. They helped me with my trigger group and striker upgrades.

I love my Glock. But I enjoy shooting 9mm better and I have an extraordinary supply of that ammo. 5 to 1 easy.

My Glock is a G21SF. The 45 is nice, but I like the 9mm. It is very accurate once I recalibrate myself to the recoil.

Ah, yeah I'm no longer able to manage a .45. But still Magills shop is a good resource.

What are you waiting for? That's the deal of the century. Granted, there is no machining or anything necessary in your case, but here is a data point for comparison: I sent a Springfield 1911 slide to Novak a couple of months ago for sight installation. It did require machining, both to open up the rear dovetail and to add a front dovetail in lieu of the original staked front. It came to $240. You are at 1/3 of that. Just do it.

I talked to the Glock tech today to clear up some questions. We were joking around like old friends.

I bought the tool for the rear sight. I do own a few glocks so I cried once. Not sure what they cost now. Nice to have.

I've had them install night sights for me. Total steal and quick turnaround.

I have a G19 with factory night sights. I like their night sites much better than I like the rest of the g19. I hope someday I will find joy in shooting one

What is it you don't like about the G19?

For me, the trigger is pretty bad. Not Ruger P95 bad, but bad enough I don't like them much. I didn't car for the grip on the ones I shot, but they belonged to a guy from one of the 3 letter agencies and explained the material is much better than others when you hand is bloody or sweaty.

i pulled the slide, wrapped carefully, insured it for the value of a SIG SAUER and sent it off. if it gets lost, i am going gun shopping. and tossing the chassis.

I hear that which is why I replaced OEM with a Pyramid trigger group.

My first gen 22 has factory night sites.

Man I used too shoot the hell out of that.

30 year shooter of 1911's. Trigger. Feels like po. Do like it's reset. Shape. It is so wrong in my hand. Takedown. Pull the trigger first? Safety. On the trigger? Really?

What I like about it? It's cheap. Magazines are cheap. And capacity. I own 20+ 1911 magazines and 8 glock magazines hold more ammo

Bought a CZ and I get hits where I aim as well as my 1911s

Pretty much my sentiments as well. Glocks are made for folks who are not really shooters, but have a need for a gun. The more one shoots, and the better one gets at it, the less use one has for a Glock. Great for police departments and the like who do not provide enough practice time and ammo for their officers to get all that proficient. Great for city councils and the like who know nothing about guns, but want their police departments to only be armed with "safe" (and cheap) guns.

My biggest complaint is the trigger. I cannot think of a worse trigger on any firearm I've ever handled. It works, it makes the gun go "bang", and for a non-shooter who has never been exposed (or exposed very little) to a fine revolver or 1911 trigger, I'm sure it seems just fine. And yes, for exceedingly close range "combat" or defensive shooting, it is. It's entirely functional. But for those of us who shoot recreationally, and have some expectations of accuracy at longer ranges (like staying on a soup can offhand at 50 yards), forget it. Nothing but frustration with that trigger.

And then there is the plastic. I just can't see a Glock as an "heirloom quality" firearm. I plan on passing my firearms on to my two boys, and they will pass them on to my grandchildren, and hopefully so on and so forth. They are wood and steel, mostly blued steel. As much of an expression of the art of the firearm as they are practical tools. Glocks, while extremely functional, will never be accused of that.

And, finally, yes - I am a firearms traditionalist and quite obviously curmudgeon. And as long as I have your attention - get off my lawn... SmileWavy

Smith & Wesson Shield wins the cheese on the worst trigger. It's a cheap plastic that deflects to the side as you pull it.

My CZ TacSport has a plastic trigger. The trigger pull is in the 1 1/2# at the bottom of the trigger and 2# in the middle. The reset is amazing. People complain that it's plastic. I think they used plastic not to save coin but to lower the polar inertia.

Precisely why I replaced the trigger group after I bought a Glock 19 Jeff. I'm not a competition shooter. I have trained most of my life to be able to hit what I'm shooting at. For me that's good enough.

Now, as for heirlooms my Beretta 96 is another story entirely. It will be handed down to my son, along with the Springfield and Marlin.
