Well I dropped my motorcycle.
Wow. Trying to put it up on my pit stand. I didn’t realize the right side bobbin seat was way out. Lifted it and TIMBER! Well that was exciting. No visible damage since I have crash bars and lever cages.
I think I an going to get a buddy to help me Lay it down so I can find a safer way to pick it back up. My herk and jerk method isn’t gonna do my back any good. I saw a video wher you use your forearms and you start off on your knees and walk it up. Now where are my Doans pills? My bike is stupid heavy! |
This method has worked for me with a large heavy BMW. Surprisingly little effort needed.

Well, she made that look a lot easier than the "just pick it up" method I've always used up til now... |
Last year I was at a place & a lady's bike had tipped. She didn't know how to get it up. The bike was new, & her equipment looked new. I demonstrated how to pick the bike up for her. As she rode off I could tell she also a new rider. Hope she made it.

Sorry, this is all I could think of...... :D

Wow. I couldn’t have picked my bike up more incorrectly.

That bike probably weighs 5x what she does and she’s not even putting any real effort into it - awesome technique! Thanks for sharing!
(Of course if the bike falls onto the left side ya gotta know when to stop walking back - or you’ll be doing it again from the right). 😜 |
There was a tiny woman that used to come to the Beemer rallies to demonstrate that technique. "Skirt" maybe?

I rolled my honda 110 3 wheeler today. That shouldnt surprise anybody but iv never done it before. it was kinda funny. Riding along a steep side hill going over a downed tree. I kinda expected it and usually catch it normally it doesnt go all the way over. no harm done.

You should post this on the ADV site, you'll get lots of great advice.
I'd suggest the jo momma sub-forum SmileWavy |
I dropped my 93 VFR yesterday re arranging my shop. Stupid move. Went to put it on the lift and the kickstand was down. This bike is cursed. It was at a shop 7 years ago that did a bunch of damage to it and stole several electrical parts off of it and then shut down. Getting it back was an adventure. It has new paint and the plastics fixed and then I did this. I was thinking about selling it anyway, not it my just be sold as a project :-(
