What shoes are you wearing with shorts?

I usually wear Sanuk flip flops. Sometimes black sneakers, but it's an old man look. I will NOT wear crocks... or the flourescent sneakers I see around. LOL

The GF says the Sperry topsider look is too preppy. What's a guy to do?

I have a nice pair of Sperry gold's. I'll were them with shorts if I'm going somewhere- where I'd like to be a little more dressed up. Most other times it's a pair of Van's or dressy polo sneakers. If I'm being very casual- I have a worn pair of Sperry's that will work.

Never flip flops. Men shouldn’t be allowed to wear them. Gross ass toes and rotten toe nails out for the world to see (and be nauseous). Looks completely trashy.

P.S. since I never go anywhere but dialysis now I just I wear Rockport slippers. I have two pair, one for in the house and the other pair by the back door for outside. My wife is very picky about her floors.

To the OP what are the specifics ? Looking for something nice to go out to lunch or dinner ? Mowing the lawn ? Working in the garage ? Hiking in the woods ? My general go to is low socks and sneakers but I also have sandals when I don't feel like wearing socks . Lawn mowing and working around the house the old sneakers that were rotated out when new were purchased . I would like to find a comfortable pair of slip ons .

Haha. Such a shame that now I can’t ever go to Jensen Beach Fl. I lived on the beach bout four hours south of Cancun for a year back in 2014 and wor Sanuk slip Ins but no flip flops.

Birks here too - have a few pairs of vans, wallabees, and adidas for more formal occasions.

My sandal tan lines are ridiculous since I retired.

I'm pairing my birks with a really natty Johnny Effin Marr tee shirt today. It was quite the hit at the waffle house earlier - along with my mullet.

Working, hiking, heavy chores around the house- boots and socks
Casual indoor comfort- slip on sketchers, no socks
Out on the town- Adidas tennis shoes and socks
water play at lakes, rivers, and streams- water shoes that offer grip and protection
