That's possibly $800 worth of vise laying there!

Had to settle for the Sears Screamer 2, complete with cast iron mag wheel and center stick caliper brake masquerading as a parking brake. Terrible at delivering papers. It was the Huffy 5 speed advertised in Boy's Life that I lusted over! But I just did the same for our daughter (she wanted an iPad for Christmas, got a HP laptop instead [wife and I thought that would be more practical for going away to college]!).

My first bike was pretty standard for 1961. Kind of like what Beaver Cleaver would ride.

I have one of those in the basement waiting for the restore mood to hit me.

I know, click bait web links are all about bombarding you with advertising, but they should try to at least put accurate data in their quiz questions. This is just one example of some of the wild factoids on one site.

"Cast iron mag" - is that like "forged copper gold" or "billet iron platinum"?

Known as a toolroom copy, Superformance’s version of the P/1075 is a near carbon copy of the GT40 that took the checkered flag at the 1969 Le Mans race, right down to its wide body, wheels and famous Gulf Oil livery. Like the original, the Superformance GT40 will come with a P/1000 Series chassis number. And, for some reason, Superformance will also throw in a limited edition Gulf GT40 guitar.

Sorry, the rear mag wheel was cast iron 5-spoke wheel. Really heavy!

Jolly Amaranto 12-28-2020 04:39 PM

Mag wheel is made of magnesium a lightweight strong metal similar to aluminum. I guess you could call it a Mag Style wheel made of cast iron.

We all called hot rod wheels "mag wheels" back in the 60's and 70's even though they weren't made of magnesium anymore. Sort of like we call a carbonated soft drink a "coke" or a cotton swab a "Q tip".

Agreed. He wasn’t focused on Dela but Paul Drake or maybe Lt Tragg
