I guess I'm not someone that automatically links poison with vaccines.

I don't know what the intent of the OP was, but clearly some are marketing this as an anti-vax statement T-shirt:

I always like relief maps like that.

I do as well. A guy I ran rivers with commercially in the 70's and 80's sent me the link because he knows I a map geek.

You are probably the only guy here that has spent more days outdoors in California than I have!

As cool and creative these types of optical illusions are, I think that they only show up in a photograph- our eyes are too smart and in person we just see lines that are out of place.

I suspect if you were drunk walking down that hall, you might be a little discombobulated by it.

That said, yes, I think these are most effective if they are a still photo, or you are standing still. If you're moving, the 3D effect will begin to unravel.

Very cool photo you posted, I wish it was larger.

Probably some form of generation gap between perspectives.
If the generation before was big into drugs; then to be edgy and rebellious one would advertise one hadn't used drugs.

And the syringe shown is an old-school reusable like you might find in a junkies "kit" rather than the one-use sharp that are used for vaccinations. So; who knows the actual intent of the OP? Not me.

On a less controversial subject; everybody has to love a hotrod Volvo!

The carpet illusion contour lines are an almost perfect example of Mass warping the fabric of space-time as predicted by einstein's equations. Light bends around massive objects and follows the contour lines. Recently this is viewed by the Webb telescope as lensing of highly distant galaxies. The depressions are what are called "gravity wells". Of course this is irrelevant to an inebriated person struggling to find his room... never mind.. carry on...

I've read that for a very long time there have been standards or, at least, best practices around stair layout. Apparently, one of the items (besides ranges/ratios for tread depth and riser height) is that they need to be consistent. So If they all measure 6" tall, but then one is 6.5" tall, you end up with a big trip hazard.
None of the stairs in my place are consistent. The top step is 6" tall, the rest are 7-9". Most of them are 11-11.25" deep at least.

But the worst part is where they put winders in. And the piece de resistance is that the smallest, most awkward winder is also the tallest of all of the steps at 9".

Max riser height is 7-3/4”. Minimum tread depth, measured nose to nose is 10”. The nosing is 3/4” to 1-1/4 inches. Each with a maximum variance of 3/8”.

I never really paid attention to that, as most inspectors check a couple of treads standing up with a tape measure. The county I’m building in now, must’ve had some kind of lawsuit. They check every riser, tread, and nosing with tape measures and squares. Interior and exterior.

With so many people don’t understand is, that 7-3/4” is the maximum. It can be 5, 6, 7 inches, etc. as long as they are within 3/8” variance between all of them. At least, that’s my interpretation.

Winders add to the equation, but there’s a minimum depth near the narrow part. I haven’t done one in ages, so I don’t remember.

Random picture.

The symbol became a very popular design element representing good luck and was prevalent in period architecture, advertising, jewelry, and on good luck tokens.

What I found on the Internet says that the narrow end of the winder has to be 6" and 12" from that narrow end has to be at least 10". I think we are just a tad off.

When we moved in, the stairs were carpeted. We've pulled the carpet, and the missus has started preparing to repaint.
