Certainly fair criticism re: putting the plane down where people were in the water. That being said, I'm pretty impressed that this pilot was able to ditch so "gently," doubt if could have gone better for the pilot and the airframe.

Its hard to believe that heavy warbird stayed aloft with so little thrust. maybe really strong headwind helped? i thought those things drop like a rock if they lose power. What is the guess on airspeed at contact. 80-100 knots?
