Wow, that's a hell of a shot, an osprey with a baby hammerhead!

I think the AH 100 and 3000 are some of the best looking cars of that type/era.

Yep, he should have stayed farther off the beech. A plane killed a swimmer a year or so ago ditching in the water. This time of year you have to assume there are going to be people in the water.

He could have put it down further off the beech and still had help if he needed it. He could have killed several trying to put it down that close to the beech.

Certainly fair criticism re: putting the plane down where people were in the water. That being said, I'm pretty impressed that this pilot was able to ditch so "gently," doubt if could have gone better for the pilot and the airframe.

Its hard to believe that heavy warbird stayed aloft with so little thrust. maybe really strong headwind helped? i thought those things drop like a rock if they lose power. What is the guess on airspeed at contact. 80-100 knots?

He was nowhere near the Beech - the Beech was still at the airstrip.
