It looks like it is strung too loose on the bottom tensioner. I used to have a 16 mm Bolex camera to film football games for coaches in the days before video cameras. That paid for my 1974 914 2.0.

The term comes from pilots crashing their planes into farm fields
and farmers claiming extraordinary sums of money from the Airforce to repay the damage to the field and crop, to the point where hte Airforce payed the equivalent sum that would have bought the entire farm.

hence.. pilot augured in.. and bought the farm.
