Usually the tech guys had the forums fixed by Mon afternoon in the past when it would get stuck. I'm guessing they are all hung over after the game yesterday.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644934371.jpg During WW2 and the blackouts during Nazi bombing of Britain, locals would paint the side of dark cattle to make them a bit more visible at night and avoid them getting hit by cars. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644934371.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644934371.jpg Bullfrog, Nevada was one of the first camps established during the Bullfrog mining rush of 1904. Many camps competed to be the primary settlement, but by 1906 Rhyolite established itself as the center of the district and most of the other camps faded away. Bullfrog hung on for a few more years but in 1909 its post office closed and Bullfrog became a ghost town. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644934371.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644934371.jpg |

On August 23, 1989, about 2 million people from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania formed a human chain that united all 3 countries to show the world their desire to escape the Soviet Union and the communism that brought only suffering and poverty. This chain stretched 600 km. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644938171.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644938171.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644938171.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644938171.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644938171.jpg |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1645019965.jpg Ever hear of a catapult shot sideways from the Hangar Deck? Yep, Hangar Deck catapults were a thing on certain Essex-class carriers, as seen in this photo taken #OTD in 1944 of an F6F-3 Hellcat of VF-2 being shot from the USS Hornet (CV-12) during training in Chesapeake Bay. The idea was to be able to quickly launch a scout plane in an emergency if the deck was fouled. With a short cat shot and no headwind (in fact usually a crosswind), it was a wild ride for aircrews! It was tried on the first six Essex-class carriers (except Essex itself which was being rushed into service as the design was being perfected). However, the advancement of radar technologies replacing the need for scout planes made the extra weight and hazardous procedure quickly obsolete. By 1944, they were removed from five of the ships, with only Hornet retaining hers. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1645019965.jpg An East German map of the area during the days of the Iron Wall. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1645019965.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1645019965.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1645019965.jpg |
