Amazonian Tree with human sized leaves is finally classified as a new species : Scientists have known about this extremely rare tree for decades, but did not have any genetic material to describe it. In 2005 a couple of botanists collected seeds from a tree in Jamari National Forest, a ancient tropical forest in the Amazon. They took the seeds and planted them and waited for one to flower. Thirteen years later one of the trees flowered and bore fruit, giving the genetic material necessary to name the new species. Coccoloba gigantifolia. I am really glad they don't grow here, I would hate to rake up those!

The Zvezda M503 (built at AO Zvezda at St Petersburg) is a maritime 7 bank, 42 cylinder diesel radial engine built in the 1970s by the Soviet Union. Its primary use was in Soviet missile boats that used three of these engines.

That is a model for a bridge in the Florida Keys for the movie True Lies. The actual bridge was closed years ago. A section of it was restored and you can now ride you bike or walk a couple miles on it to Pigeon Island. Did that last year. It's pretty cool.

Photos show dramatic difference in water levels at California's Lake Oroville from 2021 on the bottom to the photo on top, now at 100% capacity.

Or worse yet, look for a small car like an old air cooled 911, miata, or boxster/cayman in a lot full of trucks, BTDT.

What we need now is pics of Lake Oroville from 2023 to compare to the 2021 photo.

I came close to hanging a door like that. The old door was full glass and my dog loved sitting there looking out it. I actually waited until she died before replacing the door. I really miss her.
