Helgelandstrappa in Mosjøen. Nord in Norway, is one of Norway's longest mountain stairs. It has around 4,000 steps, and takes you up to Øyfjellet, 818 meters above sea level.
The stairs are wide, but the steps are relatively high and the walk quite long. There are more seats on the way up.
From the top you have lovely views in all directions, and over Lake Mosjøen.
The stairs are easily accessible from the center of Mosjøen.

Hollywood star Marlene Dietrich kissing American soldier Carus Olcott, who was returning to New York during World War II, 1945.
Carus Olcott was 23. His ship was returning from Europe where the 2nd Infantry Division had fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
"I didn't know, at 23, I didn't know necessarily that she was the greatest thing in the world," Olcott said. "They said she was a movie star, I was in the mood for kissing."
Carus Olcott passed away in 2021 at 97 years old.

These color televisions from the 1960s were literally a piece of furniture. The late 1940s is when color television got its start in America but it wasn't really a commercially viable option for people until the early 1950s. Even black and white televisions weren't a common sight in people homes in the mid to late 40s. Only 0.5% of households in the United States had a television in 1946, but sales started to take off as the '50s neared. By 1954 that percentage jumped to 55.7% and by 1962, 90% of the population had their very own television set at home.

Did you know this is the drill bit that was used for oil drilling and made Howard Hughes rich?
Howard Hughes had significant involvement in the oil and gas industry, particularly in his early career. In the 1920s, Hughes inherited his family's tool company, Hughes Tool Company, which specialized in the manufacturing of drilling bits for the oil industry. Under Hughes' leadership, the company developed innovative drill bit designs that improved drilling efficiency and became widely adopted in the oil and gas sector.
Hughes also ventured into the oil business through his acquisition of various oil wells and leases. He formed the Hughes Oil Corporation, which operated oil wells in Texas and other locations.
