Here's my armchair analysis: BAT is a great site for its original purpose, but I think they were getting dangerously close to jumping the shark. Exhibit A: they were running cars that were just plain not interesting at all: late-model SUVs, late-model 4-door sedans - yawn, it's literally the same crap being flogged on autotrader/ebay/carmax/craigslist, etc. There are thousands of other sites for that garbage - leave it there. The danger I see is the new owners trying to leverage the user base against their advertising base, and the next thing you know it's going to be chock full of new car garbage.

Not that it matters but doesn't Hearst Auto also own Turner Motorsports and Pelican ?

Has anyone picked up the project car blog role that BaT basically abandoned after starting the auction business?
Seeing all the random projects was a lot more interesting to me that some buffed out overpriced sports car. |
I sold my 1974 Iroc car for stupid money and bought a 1988 560SL for decent - I'm a BAT fan
Good for them |

barnfinds.com is sort of like what BAT used to be. Lots of crusty looking cars on there
