914 Pacer

This beauty is for sale in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Actual Pacer shown for comparison.

I don't like it.

That's not a Pacer. It is an AMX which is a close cousin of the Javelin

Well, I have seen uglier "custom" cars. Not many are uglier, but it is possible.

Someone paid a lot for that look.

That AMX girl is hot!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Dantilla 07-02-2020 01:57 PM

The rear three-quarter view looks like a kit car, but a fairly well-proportioned kit car.

That snout, however......

If you put a big wing on the back, it'd be like a 914 Superbird.

svandamme 07-02-2020 02:13 PM

There was actually something similar done by the factory.. called the 914 Goertz.. I've seen it in the Museum.. Wasn't convinced either..

Now that is ugly.

So obviously French, the Goertz thing and whatever that is in the OP are unfortunate looking. I guess if you are driving it, you don't have to look at it.

As much as I recognize the superior technological and engineering execution, has anyone ever thought there was a slight resemblance? As in a 928 looked like a squashed Pacer!

Wasn't Peter Goertz the German guy who claimed credit for styling the Datsun 240Z?

A930Rocket 07-03-2020 03:38 AM

I like it.

I mean the girl with the AMX.

Famous punchline:

"Dat soon?"

I always figured if I was rear ended in my 914 I would make a 914 "El Camino" or pickup something like this one. The good news is I was never rear ended, and now I have a real El Camino.

Sooner or later 07-03-2020 07:19 AM

I'll pass on the custom design but would gladly take the AMX.
