camp grill / stove?
Took family camping and did some water water rafting. Wife came along but she decided to bring her newly purchased kitchen because she does not like the way I mix dirty dishes and reuse pots and pans without thoroughly cleaning them. Dangit, its camping, what the dig deal?
I find a few rocks, make sure the pot doesn't fall over and some twigs and a bit of fire. We will have some of the best chili and rice after a long day in the river. But...She bought a Colman high altitude camp stove that runs off 1 lb propane tanks. Damn, this thing rocks and boils water so much faster then my home stove. I discovered the new grill will not accept the hose from the 20 lbs propane tank? After much cussing (her at me, of course) we inserted the 1 lb tank and it grilled the steaks just fine. It just burned the propane off fast. I realized that pin isn't long enough. I tried searching but have no idea what those parts are called or how this pin is measured? Tips? Is there a regulator right before the line enters the grill? Will the big regulator right off the tank do the trick? |

Coleman makes an adapter with high pressure hose.

I can't remember. I did it on mine years ago. I do know that my first attempt blew out the regulator on my little stove and I had flames shooting into the sky..

Looks like for $6 you can use this adapter to fill your 1 lb. containers from your 20 lb. containers.
Might also be a handy item to have on hand. GasOne 50180 Refill Adapter for 1lb Propane Tanks & Fits 20lb Tanks, Black

I would never refill a standard 1 lb. They are not robust enough for numerous refills. There are some that are designed to be refilled.

Looks like that adapter hose is plug and play? No regulator needed or is it internal within the device?

Yep, I clicked too fast and got the adapter to run a full size grill from a 1lb canister instead of the adapter hose. Once I realized my error I promptly corrected it.

https://www.amazon.com/GASPRO-Regulator-Replacement-Coleman-Pressure/dp/B07W7WPQQ1/ref=pd_ybh_a_12?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=189NAJDE37KWW6VJ57Y7
I need this thing (or similar) to fit the 20 lb hose coming out of the propane tank. The pin is too short to open the valve to allow gas to come through. |

I really want to pick up a half sized bottle from the 20lb ones. It’s 11lbs I think. It’s tiny and lacks so much easier.

This piece came with the grill and I can't seem to get the hose to fit or due to the short pin coming out of the regulator. I jsut discovered my wife bought that adapter hose from Amazon they mentioned earlier.
