Since the start of this thread I've searched and searched for the set I bought my parents. It wasn't very expensive (less than $150 for the set) and they take and hold a great edge.

I did end up buying the Tormek T-2 that Randy mentioned. And I must say, it is definitely NOT a bench grinder.
